Yeah maybe, but you get what I'm saying I don't want this to prevent them from taking another shot next year when you probably have a pretty good crop a quarterbacks to choose from. You need to rebuild the whole quarterback room, so I don't mind taking him, but I'd rather not spend any more than a third. You've got to plant a lot of seeds here, they can't keep messing around with this quarterback situation.

Not saying you are wrong about rebuilding the QB Room. Only pointing out that Dart is likely to go higher than others think. As much as I hate to say this because I was such a fan of him, Jalen Milroe may also be popping up as a hot name for the team. That said, I wouldn't touch him until the 3rd Round but his overall tremendous, dynamic athletic skill set will easily allow a team to take a chance on him in the Second Round. Question remains as to will he last that long to Pittsburgh?!

Between you and me, Riley Leonard from Notre Dame would be a great addition in Round 3.

Leonard and Milroe are QBs similar to Fields good runners but subpar passers.

I trust Leonard a lot more in terms of processing and poise in the pocket. His best attribute though are the touch passes he makes. If anything, you are correct about Riley but for a different reason. Unless Arthur Smith can add more timing based rhythm concepts to the playbook, Riley Leonard isn't a fit in Pittsburgh as it stands.

Now, if you are talking about the shoddy footwork in the pocket and lack of consistency?! Got me there. Milroe has far superior physical and arm talent than Leonard but double the overall technical and fundamental issues of Leonard.

I would want Will Howard from Ohio State but he screams as West Coast a QB I think I have scouted since CJ Stroud lol. No where near in the same tier of QB but Howard is tailored made for that type of Offense.

Russ is pretty much done. I can understand a 36 year old 5-11 Qb not so eager to get hit. And his height requires him to move around so hes at a disadvantage at an older age. The hits took their toll over the course of the season.

I wanted to give KP one more year. But what do i know?

it always looks like he can’t even see over the O line , it may not help they get blown back off the line of scrimmage 5 yards within .5 of a second lol… but still

yeah, thats why he doesnt throw over the middle that often. If the line doesnt create space for him to see the middle he has to scramble or launch a bomb to Pickens on the sideline.

Dart really looked good in the Gator Bowl throwing for 4 TD's in their beat down of Duke.

Scribe pointed out the most of the good numbers came once the game was lost and out of hand.

They are going to have to do something and time is of the essence. Will Howard possibly as well. Issue is if they draft a QB who will they learn from? Or will it be baptism by fire? This is the only reason I would keep Wilson (at a major discount) to be a mentor. I would not want gimmick Fields mentoring any QB.

So now the announcers know what's wrong with how someone is playing, please. The offense in the first half was awful and how much time did Russ have to go through his progressions? Look at the stat lines, he was harassed and hit a lot, can't get to third or fourth reads when your running from defenders.

On top of that Pickens bonehead OPI which could have been a huge momentum changer when it was still 14-0. Also you have to give it to the Ravens DB he made a heck of a play against Muth to stop him inches short. Didn't like the route which forced him to stop or slow his momentum to catch the ball. Where were Washington and Heyward? I don't recall seeing much if any of either of them.

My take is, go with Fields next year. Not because I think he's good, but precisely because I think he stinks. We need to have a 4-13 season, because that's the only way we get rid of the real problem. Plus, it will put us in a position to actually rebuild. We're going to need to trade Watt for picks to do that, which I am also for. They won't fire Tomlin, but they can damn sure leave him with a bare cupboard and he'll move on on his own.

Our storied running game had 21 yards on 9 carries from our backs. Russ is not the long term answer, but come one, the entire O sucked...period. The entire D sucked, period.

At the beginning of the year I felt we were one good draft and FA period from being a contender, this past month has shown how far we really are from the top AFC teams, it is more than just a QB, if the standard is the standard, then whatever gauge being used has been set back 35 years.

So you think they sign a guy thinking, hoping, desiring we go 4-13? Tony Dungy was on Dan Patrick today and said 2 remarkable things. He was talking to Dan Rooney one time and Dan said when Chuck Noll went 1-13 his first season, he knew he had the right coach by the way he reacted. When Dan Patrick asked him if Tomlin should go, he said who are they going to get that is better.

That is the difference in thinking, it has been said often on here you can't live and play in and to your fears, well you cannot live in a vacuum, in the past, nor truly live by being satisfied with mediocrity and afraid that no one MIGHT be better than what we have. which has not produced much in a decade plus. This is not about QB's or players, it reallly is not about MT, it is about an owner who can not/will not see it is time to change direction.
