You're optimistically assuming that this butt clown can lead this team to a playoff berth again. I'm beginning to wonder if the players even think that is possible at this point given the horrible ending to this season.

Another factoid, in only 4 of Tomlins seasons have we advanced in the playoffs, 4 out of 18 with the talent we had during many of those years. Even Helen Keller could see what needs to be done here!!!

 

I don't necessarily think Tomlin is a bad coach, I think he hitches his cart to bad coordinators. For instance, he stuck with Matt Canada for too long and you saw the results that had over 2.5 seasons. Then we go out and get Arthur Smith, who is known for running the ball, and we can't ever establish the run and we dont have an offensive identity. He plays into Tomlin's conservative approach with the hope that our defense can play lights out...but we go 3 and out on offense so damn much that our defense is gassed. On top of that, I've never seen a team not be able to move the ball with their first 15 plays, that are supposed to be scripted.

The same can be said for the defensive coordinator Teryl Austin. But in this case, I feel like it's Tomlin calling the plays. (I could be wrong). We have a vanilla defensive scheme relying on the front 4 getting to the QB or creating pressure. If that doesn't happen we are Swiss cheese. Rarely do we blitz our middle linebackers (Queen/Wilson), who are known for their speed. They are just used in coverage. We can't stop the run the last few seasons. Are we a defense that plays press man coverage or zone??? No identity again.

Tomlin needs to hire competent coordinators who aren't running vanilla out of date schemes and allow them to do their job. He is probably a better motivator then Harbaugh, but Harbaugh has hired a better staff and he lets them do their job why he overseas everything.

 

Got Tomlin his stupid record again and then they quit.

This team is a joke! Russ is cooked! The defense has no heart! Except cam and watt! Tomlin is a good guy. But he needs to step down as a coach.

Tomlin needs to go because:
-He doesn’t hire competent coordinators, maybe because he wants control
-He’s an enabler and not a motivator
-He’s unwilling to change his mindset while his contemporaries change with the times
-He’s too comfortable an needs a fresh start

You can fire him twice and our team wasn’t beating Baltimore Saturday. Our line does not hold up and our receivers lack effort. We are going to have to fall on the sword and have a couple bad seasons to get in draft position. The teams left in it have their QB. We have to find one and find a way to get him. It cannot be a recycled beat up guy.
