Yup. I wonder who they'll hire to be the next sacrificial lamb.

There's ONE common denominator. But let's not address that. :frustrated:

The fire Tomlin chants this fall at Heinz will be lit and Art II will have nobody but himself to blame for the upcoming debacle.

Even though I knew it for some f'd up reason I was hoping Tomlin would decide to step down, delusional because my head said no way, he will keep cashing those checks, but my heart held out hope. A few years ago before we drafted Pickett I took time off and rarely watched the games because I knew it was fools hope. I watched a lot this year to see if Russ could make a difference and Canada was gone. Probably gonna step away next year, boy is off to college, new home being built likely during that time so distractions will be there. Having said that it just sucks to not have that entertainment to look forward to, then again its always gut wrenching stress, ha.

Tomlin is one of the highest paid coaches? How is that possible? The "experts" here say that the Rooneys are cheapskates!

If this guy is going to stay whats the point of making any changes to the rest of the staff?

Just anticipate another 10-7 or 9-8 season with maybe a first round exit again.

Not sure, but this is the only Austin I want to see on this defensive staff right now. Let Tomlin try to take the playcalling over from him.

Coach Cool staying, what a shocker. Looks like next year is year 3 not watching something that is just not worth the investment. This is the 3rd time on this board since that last failure of a season ended last year and it looks exactly the same then as it does now. It's one thing to post when there is optimism and excitement that entertains. This isn't it. See you all next January if I am around.

Honestly, what's the plan? The DC is pretty much in name only and Tomlin micromanages the offense. This team desperately needs a franchise QB but will likely bring in a 36 year old Kirk Cousins, like he's some answer. Where's the accountability; where's the discipline; where's the fire and heart? There's multiple plays from last night where players made business decisions and quit. So they're just going to use FA and the draft to patch holes like the previous two seasons, then what's the plan? This is f&cking insanity and will only net the same result by January.

Keeping Mike Tomlin is the result of complete stubbornness from Rooney. Rooney cares more about legacy than Championships... whereas the old Steelers cared only about Championships. We've gone through numerous coordinators, players, GM's... with the only common denominator throughout the embarrassing 0-6 blowout, first round playoff exists, is Mike Tomlin. Tomlin is horrendous at developing players and, especially, QBs. And, while he was a great motivator, he has been routinely outcoached when preparation matters most. Even his ability to motivate is now in question given the lack of effort on display during his 0-6 record. Rooney needs to wake the hell up and start caring more about putting a quality coaching staff together to give Steelers fans the team they deserve.
