The following comes from CBS Sports:

"The Steelers are the first 10-win team in NFL history to end the season on a five-game losing streak (including playoffs), showcasing how poor Pittsburgh has been to close out the year.

The Steelers were outscored by 52 points during that stretch, scoring just 14.3 points per game. This collapse was just as bad as the 2023 Eagles, 1999 Lions, and 1986 Jets -- all had historic skids to end the season after strong starts.

The 2024 Steelers belong in the group of worst collapses in NFL history. They have a case to be the worst."

If that wasn't enough, there's these gems.

Tomlin - 14 out of 18 seasons without a playoff win.
From 2008 to 2020, the Steelers scored 9 total 1st quarter points coming off the bye. That's a period of 12 years, and we scored a total of 9 1st quarter points after the bye.
We have been outscored 80-0 in the 1st quarter of our last 6 playoff losses. Some of those games are against powerhouses like Jacksonville and Cleveland.
Excluding Baltimore, the first-quarter offensive tally during the Steelers’ current postseason losing streak? Seventeen possessions, nine first downs, 11 punts, five turnovers and one turnover on downs. Only four of the 17 drives gained at least 10 yards, and only six got at least one first down.
During our current playoff losing streak, we have allowed 10 TD's and only forced 7 punts during the 1st quarter.
During this season, we were the 4th worst in the league in 1st quarter points.

There's a pretty strong theme here and it has been very consistent for many, many years. We absolutely suck in the 1st quarter. We come out flat and end up in a big deficit early. That's not a good way to win games. That trend has occurred with numerous OC's, DC's and all different players. Only one thing has remained the same...

I don’t get the media comment. The media has been unhappy with him for years.

Agree but that’s why is hype exists around the nfl fan bases other team and sports fan by into it and they think Tomlin is something great I guess if ur home town is a historic bunch of losers like the raiders in the last 30 years or the browns or someone like that u would believe Tomlin is good

Who cares what the national media thinks. Why do you?

and even if that’s the case, Good, maybe some franchise will give multiple first round picks for him. Like the Jets or Raiders.

All I hear is support for Tomln. "Yeah, things aren't good, but Tomlin knows what he's doing, he'll regroup and turn this ship around."
Or some variation of that. That's all I ever hear. I never hear anyone call for his job.

The Rooney Tomlin tandem has pretty well established themselves as the hover around .500 tandem, that some seasons gets to tack an extra loss to the record.

Local radio all want him gone. I think it’s finally catching up to him.

That's simply not true, they've been cheerleading if anything, they can't wait to roll out the "No losing seasons, ...and with that defense narrative" it's just so easy for them, lazy "journalism". "Hey guys we got the Steelers take wrapped up again"

Now the eye wateringly bad stats have started to appear all over the internet, they now can't ignore them because it would show just how far out of step they are with reality and the fans. IE Thier audience. They don't want their audience turning off, and not clicking their talking head pieces.

Earlier in the thread it was established that when people say that they were talking about national media, which I do not watch nor should anyone really care what they think or say.
