Free hit

The Steelers coaching staff should have told TJ Watt to hit Lamar as hard as possible every time he handed the ball off. Since faking the hand off is a staple of the offense that’s a free hit on Lamar even if he doesn’t have it. Lamar would not have finished the game or the Ravens would have been forced into something different.

 

I dont know man. I hate to give him props but LJ was faking me out on the couch and the camera man a couple of times.

Not saying he would get the Tom Brady treatment but I dont think you can punish the QB and slam him to make them think twice.

 

On pass plays you can’t kill the QB. You can hit him hard if he just faked the handoff. I am saying TJ should have hit the QB regardless if he had the ball. TJ hit a RB that didn’t have the ball multiple times

 

You need to rattle him when he is running all over you like that.

 

I mean you used to send the QB a message that he will pay the price but I literally watch these refs dropping flags these days as the sacker is basically lying him down in a bed of lettuce. ha

 

We actually did this the last couple years with fairly good success. It’s nothing new. And Lamar finished the game on those occasions too.
Probably should’ve tried some of that last night. I don’t know if it was game plan or just that the ravens are that much better than the Steelers, but we got our ass handed to us.

 

The Ravens are that much better, talent and coaching.

 

I said the same thing. If they want to play a college style offense, at least make Lamar pay for it. After the first 10 qb runs, you'd think our coaching staff would get the message and switch things up. It's like they were afraid to hit Lamar last night, even though their previous success against him was from roughing him up all game. Just dumb
