There's an idea then he would have an excuse to add weight and be lazy.

What has Woodleys excuse been this far? I will be interested to see how he reports to camp. In shape or donuts? I wonder how Coach Tomlin will handle it if he comes in donuts. He delt with Hampton. Hope he does the same if so needed. This guy is sucking up cap space.

Freeney = one trick pony. My son and I call him Spin Move. Thats all he's got. And why for the life of me would the Steelers even be entertaining bringing him in? He is a DE in a 4-3. Makes no sense. Let go of Harrison and bring in a washed up Spin Move. Laughable.

I agree. I think at this point that Worilds is at a 50/50 point - 50% likely to emerge next year as a viable starter, and 50% likely to prove that he is worthy of remaining on the roster as a backup. I no longer think that he's on his way out of the league. However, he is a LONG way from being a sure thing, and I think we absolutely need to get a viable alternative in the draft. As another alternative, I am wondering if Victor Butler is still on our radar. I recently read where someone did the same thing that you did - projecting his stats to 1,000 snaps, and I believe it totaled up to 14 sacks for 1,000 snaps. He is visiting Cleveland tomorrow. If he signs there, it may help push a good 3-4 edge rusher further down in round 1.

I say sign him we could use him when we are in the nickel and he would have chances to get to the qb and this would also hopefully allow him to play the whole season.

There's a report Freeney is seeking 6 million a year that's probably why he hasn't signed yet, teams are waiting until the price drops. The Steelers aren't going to pay Freeney 6 million a year that's for sure he's 33 years old and only played OLB 1 year with the Colts.
