He wouldn't. And Rooney would never humiliate him by auctioning him off like cattle.

Is Pickens in the top 25 in any receiving category this year

I honestly don't think its like that. He's a child when we lose... But hasn't really been and off the field issue in the absence of losing. I don't think he's just going to put on a spectacle for the hell of it. If we offer him a 30m/yr deal, I think he'd just sign it.

He's 10th in yards per reception and 9th in plays of 20+ yards. There are 21 receivers and 3 TE's that gained 1000 yards this season and only AJ Brown, Mike Evans, and Nico Collins achieved that number while playing in 14 games or less. A 17 game season applying his average would put him in 15th place in yards league wide, only a few yards behind Terry McLaurin.

I don't know why being top 25 in categories when he missed games due to injury makes a difference. He is a big play WR that played on the 26th best passing offense and was the only really capable WR on his team. He essentially had bracket coverage or double coverage all game while teams dared literally anyone else in our WR room to beat them. I think he had a fine enough season. He got a bit unlucky with some TD's and big plays called back for penalties too. He did have a terrible game vs. Cincy and it brought his season drops total to a much higher rate. He followed a very good hands season with a meh one.

I don't think he's the best WR in the league, but I think he gets a good bit of extra hate due to him acting like a fool when we lose. He's a very good player. If we get rid of him, there is nearly a 100% chance that our already dogsh*t WR room will be worse in 2025 than it was with GP in 2024. Its not as easy as everyone is making it sound. We'd have to either pay Higgins a huge amount (who is a dangerous contract due to injuries), or trade for someone like DK Metcalf or Tyreek Hill... and then draft one in the first round or two. Its a daunting task to rebuild the WR room without GP.

Players currently signed for 2025 that I don't see being on the roster next fall:

    Preston Smith 13.4
    Larry O 7
    Seamalu 7.8
    Holcomb 6
    Patterson 2.8
    Pickens 1.6

    Cap savings 38.6ish million

Pickens has all the talent in the world but acts like a 5 year old on the sidelines. He also doesnt always play hard which is my biggest gripe. Another WR that MT has enabled from day 1 and you see how that ends up. I don’t disagree that if we lose him we are worse off from a talent standpoint but he’s not worth the BS. Plus I don’t think he’s happy or wants to be here either.

Maybe he and Tomlin can be a broadcast team

Milroe is painfully raw as a passer, and I don’t trust our coaching staff to develop him. I’d let someone else take that risk unless he falls to the 3rd.

Has Milroe declared for for the draft? Seen that he was leaning towards staying.

at some point, you wake up and say "I am done, I am spent"

he has made his millions, he should walk away. Each year is a further embarrassment......

the BIG Pickens savings is in FUTURE $$'s and we can rebuild with some better heads. But - this team will NEVER attract talent WR's until Tomlin is gone

they can draft them - yes - but they TOO will want OUT

I don't really care about the childish outbursts, but it is tough to even know how much damage he has done by taking plays off during the last three seasons.

I'm not sure I even want him that high. Tough dude, but I'm not impressed with him as a passer.

I mean if players want to act like divas but produce whatever but I do worry all these sideline antics are distracting to the team. He’s not good enough for the crap he pulls IMO. Hes not AB.

Milroe has declared for the draft, I would be surprised if he gets drafted before the 3rd round he played terribly over his last few games. Speaking of QB's I see the Seahawks signed our pre-season QB John Rhys Plumlee and switched him to WR. He was on the Seahawks active roster by the end of their year. The Steelers had him all training camp and saw what a good athlete he was and how weak our WR room was but I guess they never thought about him making the switch.

I agree, I was hoping he’d latch on. Guess he didn’t show enough or maybe just another poor decision.

Any team that would draft Milroe in the first will be making a mistake, he's even worse than Fields as a passer.

Or they thought about it, but didn't think he would be good enough.

A beatdown Saturday night will be treated as if it was expected, since we are close to a double-digit underdog as of now. I agree it should cause a shakeup combined with results from the last few years, but it won't. At least not as far as the head coach is concerned.

There should be an algorithm on this board that bans you for a week if you post the words trade Tomlin in a sentence.

Troy Fautanu has 34.5 inch arms. That is more than capable for an Offensive Tackle. Those concerns were Pre Combine.

Troy will still be the Right Tackle whereas Broderick will be the Left.
