Saying it’s silly to talk about is a silly thing to say when you are on a message board.

The evidence totally backs it up, you’re just defensive of him.

No more than you are overly critical of him, as proven by the fact that you bringing up an odd criticism of a quarterback who is no longer on the team.

The evidence does not back it up. The ball went to Harris. He caught it. The only evidence you have is Roethlisberger's nonsense, and he has been wrong many, many times when talking about the quarterbacks who have taken his place for the Steelers. It is a take that is so bad that it makes me think Roethlisberger knows better, but just wants the attention.

I purposely criticize him because I know it gets you worked up :lolol: Doesn’t mean what I am criticizing him for isn’t true though.

Like you try to do to me about Willis when you pull his name out of thin air trying to insert him into the conversation. The difference is I don’t care, that and he’s better than Pickett anyway, started a couple games in place of Love this season that they won. He was always going to be a project.

I’ve seen the video many times, doesn’t show conclusively like you claim that he was throwing to Harris. Look at the very last angle, his eyes are on Simms. Ben has a little more credibility than you, funny that you would try to dismiss his opinion. It’s fine to disagree with him but to be dismissive is silly.

But Pickens is starting to look like a childish waste of skin

I'm aware of what you are doing there, but thank you for demonstrating that you very much care about the Willis comments. I got a kick out of you claiming you don't care, then going into defending him in the very same post.

Pickett has started and won games in the NFL, too, if you didn't forget. He started one the Eagles won this season, too.

His eyes are on both players and the ball went to Harris, not Sims. He looked at both of his options there, but threw it where only Harris could get it. Collinsworth raved on and on about what a fantastic play that was by Pickett. He compared it to the spectacular plays Mahomes makes. He's got a lot more experience breaking down NFL films than Roethlisberger. Why are you ignoring Collinsworth's opinion?

I wasn't entirely dismissive of Roethlisberger. I pointed out that he has been wrong quite often in a short period of time when discussing Steelers' quarterbacks. He has also demonstrated a need for attention many, many times during and after his playing career. Odd little hot takes like that one are a good way to get attention, which is why I suggested that Roethlisberger is just saying something he knows will get a reaction even though he knows better.

No, actually you missed what I was doing there by saying Willis is better than Pickett. Which of course he is but you missed it.

Great play by Harris, lucky play by Pickett.

I know what you were doing there. You were defending Willis like you always do. I remember how badly you wanted the Steelers to draft him, just as the main thing I liked about the Pickett selection was that they didn't take Willis. (I wanted Linderbaum.)

Isn't this getting to the level of trolling now?

Harris made a nice catch there, but Pickett evaded the rush after getting immediate pressure at the snap, managed to get square on the run and lead Harris away from the defender. I think you know enough about football to realize that, but would rather just create another argument.

Agreed until your comment about Pickens. And people do believe anything. Even though I believe in the globe, not many people can explain why earth is a globe. And that's why we see so many flat earthers.

As for pickens, there's beat writers for the browns who straight up lie. And people here straight believe that beat writer.... and it's not just pickens. They did it with Wilson and even Fields. And then you have a ton of writers who do click bait articles really bad.

I think it depends on what is happening behind the scenes and how disruptive he is being. Also if they think he was sandbagging it last week, don’t want to put on a tinfoil hat but some of those drops looked on purpose.

    IDK

Dropping passes is not going to make other teams want to trade for him and it certainly isn’t going to convince the Steelers to give him a big fat extension

I’m thinking he is not the locker room mess DJ apparently was

This is only based on what I see on the sidelines at home games

When DJ came off the field after a drop etc other players avoided him

When GP comes off the field players come up to him encouraging him

I tend to agree, they just looked suspect and it did occur after Wilson had said he expected him to run the clear out or go route, however he phrased it.

On at least two of them, a defender got his hand on the ball and swatted it loose. Those are catches Pickens usually makes because he has strong hands and snatches the ball rather than just letting it come to him, but I hesitate to suggest those were on purpose. I guess I wouldn't be shocked. He is incredibly immature and selfish.

There may be some tinfoil on your head, but it's an understandable thought. It's not as if Pickens hides his selfishness.

Lets say Muth caught that ball. How much time would have been on the clock and where would the ball have been?
Sure, you're technically correct in that we could have won the game if Muth had caught the ball. Just like I could win the lottery if I buy a ticket.
    Neither is likely to happen.
So much went wrong in that game. Yes, Muth should have caught the ball, but drops are part of the game. If you need a last second catch and then a miracle to win the game, other things have gone wrong.
The reality is our offence was putrid against the worst defence in the league. That is what lost us the game, not one play in the dying seconds.

The bigger mistake was the play before. I know Pickens had a horrible day, but if your best receiver gets that wide open deep in opposing territory, the quarterback needs to make that throw.

Regarding Freiermuth's drop, I'm sure he tried to do too many things at once. He needed to catch the ball, run a few more yards, and give himself up to give the Steelers a chance. He didn't focus enough on the first step. He was at the Bengals' 48 when the ball hit his hands and there were 11 seconds remaining when the officials blew the whistle. He probably needed at least five more yards to give Boswell a realistic shot. He had plenty of room to get that, but I'm not sure his teammates would have gotten there in time to get set and spike the ball.

I hate to say it because he played so much better than his teammates most of that game, but Freiermuth had a couple of big mistakes. Remember, he ran straight for the sideline rather than getting the first down on a catch before the half, setting up the third-and-1 sneak by Wilson.
