I don't know why, but I actually feel pretty good about Saturday's game. I know the Ravens are a better team, but I don't think they wanted the Steelers to be their first round opponent. We tend to play them tough, and we've already beaten them once this year. I think Russ plays better against them this week and we pull off a close upset with the aid of a defensive or special teams touchdown. I feel like we're due for one of those splash plays Tomlin is always dreaming about.

In our last 5 playoff games (all losses) the Steelers have been Outscored 66-0 in the first quarter.

MT certainly gets the boys ready out of the gate!

Wow, I figured I would have heard (or read) that somewhere before just now.
You would think there would be some clan of some kind to have put this info out at some time or another.
Wonder why this kind of info is suppressed easily.

Wasn’t that Ike Taylor that got burned on a late game simple slant that went for 6 ? I can’t remember the receiver but that was a heartbreaking loss for me. I always liked Tebow as a person but not as an NFL QB…which is why that one stung so bad.

That will be the key to this game, when halftime comes and the Ravens are only winning 13-7 they will start to tighten up. If it's only 16-10 going into the fourth quarter the Ravens will be worrying about the ghost of past Steelers losses.

After seeing some stats my confidence is even lower. The last 6 teams to play a divisional opponent on the road has lost by an average score of 34-17. Yikes.

The funny thing is (and I'd have to search for the article) "some" of the local Baltimore sportswriters are saying similar things - that they really didn't want to have to draw the Steelers for their first game.

Now whether anyone, especially the Ravens, believe that or not - we shall see.

The Ravens fans on their message board didn't want to see the Steelers either. Our history against them was one reason but even if they win it will be a physical, possibly a injury plagued game that will doom them the following week.

Remember the SB that season. Damn Rams were so pumped at end of 3rd quarter, I started freaking but Terry and Company came through.

This alone proves 1 or 2 things, probably both. First, the OL isnt very good at blocking ( run or pass ) or Second, the OL coach sucks....I'm going with both. Reason being is that we spent some high draft capital on this line and so far we have seen zero results. I know Fautanu getting hurt didnt help, but also keeping Dan Moore at LT instead of your first round draft pick who was a LT is simply stupid. I'm no rocket scientist but I have slept at a holiday inn express a time or two and believe that finding a RT would have been easier/better than getting your QB's blind side destroyed.

I thought for sure that we would blow out the Rams in that Superbowl but when we were losing going into the 4th quarter I was starting to panic. John Stallworth bailed us out with some great over the head catches and we got our running game going in the fourth quarter behind Franco. I never dreamed that would be our last Superbowl win for another 26 years.

    100%.

If Jones busts then 50% of the blame at least will fall on Tomlin and his mismanagement of him. You just absolutely knew from the moment he was drafted that Tomlin would shove him over to RT. I'm past the point now where I look at the line and think it';s the talent first and foremost it's not it's fiorst and foremost coaching. Our line has sucked for years. It's not been any good since the prime Pouncey, DD and Ramon years.

If you want to get even more depressed look at how many teams that won were over a touchdown underdog on the road. If Lamar chokes, this would be his biggest choke of all. I'm going to do my best to will it into existence! (I ain't putting any $ on it though)

A loss by the Ravens would destroy their franchise. Harbaugh would probably lose his job, Lamar would be branded the all time biggest choker in sports history, major changes would be made in their organization. There is a massive amount of pressure on the Ravens to win this game. When you build a team like the Ravens anything less than a Superbowl win is unacceptable. Lose in the first round to a team that has lost 4 in a row and you are favored by 10 points over and heads will roll.
