Jets are requesting an interview with Arthur Smith.

Update: Bears have also requested to interview Art.

This is kind of surprising with how predictable, and frankly bad, our offense has been.

But they are not looking at him for OC but rather HC

Although your thought still applies to his last stint as HC

How about a buy one get one free, and we throw in Tomlin?

This would be a dream come true if it happened, but Tomlin would just screw up the next hire anyways.

Each team has to interview like 5 guys, Im sure he is a token interview. Why would any team want him?

The Jets are just interviewing anybody Smith has done nothing to warrant an interview for a HC job .

The Jets are not going to hire Smith. They are looking at lots of people including Ryan, Vrabel, Johnson and others. They can have Tomlin for a late round pick in 2076.

This is why it was always a little suspect to bring a former HC in as OC because you could lose him very quickly.

Worked with Haley I know but his stint as a HC ended as a dumpster fire.

I figured despite Smiths record at Atlanta that he would get offers again soon. At the very least, we will probably be looking for an OC again.

So they hired saleh over him, fired saleh, and now want to interview smith again?

It might not be a bad thing if Smith left after one season ;), and he can take that washed up Patterson with him.

the risk of losing them exists with every oc and dc candidate. Personally I hope he stays for a few years, but that’s largely because playing coordinator carousel only hurts the team. I saw an interview with shlerith(Mr poops his pants) and he said one of the things he learned from shanahan is it takes two full seasons for a coordinator and qb to really get on the same page.

Terrible as a HC in Atlanta and has seriously underachieved in his 1st season as OC here. If he is the caliber of HC the Jets are looking for, then we won't have to worry about them being a threat in the AFC for the next few years.

Rex Ryan thinks that he will get the job, says Rodgers country club would be over he if returns.

Rex is another slob I don't like.

Ryan is a blowhard. Vrabel is a shoe in for the Patriots’ job. Johnson is not going to step into that pile of turd.

Do you think Tomlin would give up control of the defensive play calls?

So if he leaves we get nothing for him, because he has only been here a year

When the offense was ran the correct way we put up 44 points. What happened after that?
