Im not saying you are wrong but why?? Why is it just “nope” like 0 possibility for a guy that has likely won 3 playoff games in 14 years!!! Make it make sense!

The first drive was too easy but after that the D played Burrow about as well as you can. However the offense has reverted back to last season. Just total garbage.

I'm with you on wanting better but the Pittsburgh Steeler organization does not make changes based on how things are going. They are committed to Mike Tomlin for the rest of his contract. There is a reason the Steelers have had only 3 Coaches in the SB era. The organization doesn't like change. And a very strong argument could be made that they are a successful organization around the NFL.

Pisses me off but it is the way they roll.

Used to be a successful organization. 3 playoff wins in 14 years is not success. Times change you either adapt or get left in 1975.

Completely agree. They're going to do things their way and given the success of the franchise over the last 50 years you can't blame them for sticking to a proven formula. The trick becomes when do you change the formula because at some point you will have to. We may have reached that point.

Man... I wouldn't be a betting man on that.

That said, I'd imagine that Teryl Austin could be. Then again, firing two Coordinators in back to back seasons?! Very, very un Steeler like. However, drastic times do call for drastic measures.

By him requesting Mahome and Kelce to come get him all while his Team was getting raped by the chiefs is very telling where is head is at this point! Cancer!

What Hendrickson did is irrelevant to judging what Watt did. Also, Watt didn't get to face Moore all night.

Watt hasn't done anything during this losing streak, and he went up against the Bengals backup RT.

Tell me you didn't watch the game, or at least didn't pay close attention to the pass rush, without telling me you didn't watch.

Keep making excuses for him because he had zero stats for the game .

Sure, he did. But over the last third of the season, he was very quiet, let's be honest. Was the ankle bothering him? Likely. I personally could care less if he gets DPOY, especially if they get bounced by Baltimore. I'm sick and tired of looking for pearls in a cesspool.

Crazy, People keep talking about the Steelers getting better in the 2nd half of the game, but the reality of it was the Tee Higgins injury in the 2nd half saved the Steelers. This injury allowed Joey Porter to switch to Jamar Chase and that helped the Trice/Pierre problems that happened in the 1st half.

Without the Tee Higgins injury this would have been another bad 10+ point loss.

I still don’t understand how Tomlin continues to think. This was just another example. Joe Burrow with the most successful offense in the NFL in 2024. You win the coin flip and let them have the ball first just to watch him drive down the entire field and score a TD. Gee. Now we get to try and play catch up with our terribly ineffective offense. I swear. Does Tomlin even study his opponents? Frustrating watching this every season.

I'm not making excuses. I'm just wondering what game you watched. I saw Watt constantly in Burrow's face. I saw him get a strip sack that was wiped out by a penalty on Trice. I watched him force Burrow to step right into the arms of a teammate for a sack. I saw him create so much pressure that the Bengals, who almost always have five guys in the route, started throwing three blockers at Watt. You missed all that.

They settled down before Higgins was injured, but the injury to Higgins was part of the issue for the Bengals. Just as injuries were part of the Steelers' defense playing like crap in the loss to the Ravens. The Steelers entered that game without Jackson and Elliott, then lost Porter during the game. Lamar Jackson threw three touchdown passes, all on busted coverages. Do you think the constant shuffling in the secondary was part of that?

Don't get me wrong. The Steelers still had some serious problems in that game. They couldn't stop Henry. At all. But let's not ignore that injuries affect things both ways.

I also think Burrow was more injured than he let on (neck most likely from the looks of it) - because after he came back out, he was missing throws - wildly. Very un-Burrow-like. Aikman was even making comments about it.

That's a good point. Honestly, I got so caught up in Pickens and Wilson blowing the game that I forgot Burrow had been injured.
