There's a Tomlin fan club? Are you the president, or do you and Mikey and DJ take turns?

 

Where did I say the league was rigged? All I did was agree with a fellow poster regarding the purpose of message boards.

 

My apologies for not being clearer. Wasn’t claiming you believed the nfl is rigged. Just using those two as an example. If they truly believe the nfl is rigged then why complain?

 

Really not sure what is so difficult for people to use this feature??

 

Pro wrestling is rigged and draws millions of weekly viewers and people go to message boards to complain. It is what it is. People cope differently.

 

What are they coping with? It’s rigged. It’s fake. Being that it’s rigged there isn’t a win or a loss. Only a predetermined outcome

 

I'm a Pirate fan I'm use to losing. TBH, I can watch Pirates and Pens (now) with out getting pissed off but regardless of who is on the Steelers I probably expect to much and get angry. When you watch your team go 11-0 or 10-3 and then flat out suck you have the right to be angry. At least with the Steelers there is more hope then the other 2 teams. Between Bradshaw and Ben the Steelers made the Playoffs a lot.

Tell you how bad it is getting for Pittsburgh sports, I'm following the NCAA BB. Them Pitt Panthers should be in March Madness. They have to play Duke Tuesday. Gonna be tough.

It took me 13 years but I finally put one low life on “ignore”

 

That reminded me of a Super Bowl story. I was strutting around in my Ben R. jersey (now happily owned by another board member) the season we won #5. Playoffs had just started and a guy came up to me and said, "you're hoping for #5. I'm going for #11". I asked how the F is that possible? It is when you are a fan of 3 NFL teams. I told him it doesn't count to me or any other NFL fan. Kind of like when I brag about parring a little golf course playing 2 balls and counting the best shot.

 

There is some legitimacy to what you say, and anyone who thinks that anything posted here makes a difference in how the team is run is either smoking crack or falls for scams from India. There is also legitimate discussions, disagreements, arguments, and outright verbal 'fist fights' about many facets of this team and the league in general. There are those you mentioned, simply want to complain and cut after a missed play, but genuinely I think most regular posters have some knowledge of the game and enjoy the dialogue. At least here I can wade through the things you mention and get some depth of knowledge and experience that is serious. I was on a YT chat vlog following the Ravens/Browns, then our game. The 'fans' there were stating things like, 'trade up so we can get Sanders, oru first and second will get it done". followed bu "Houston is going to draft him, let his sit under Stroud, then unleash him in 2 or 3 years'. I get it, not everyone follows this team or even the NFL closely, but learn a bit before you post, lol.

 

But you would miss out on such stimulating conversation

These three words sum it up.

Some fans put a jersey on every Sunday, eat some chips, drink some beers, and get more into the experience of watching a game, than the actual game itself.

Others sit on pins and needles, over analyzing every call, and need Maylox to get through the last 5 minutes of the 4th quarter.

To each their own.

As for the Tomlin bashing, so what? When your team loses 4 straight to end a season, your head coach is probably going to get some heat. Tomlin gets more heat than others because these collapses are a yearly occurrence.

Im not using it. But I'm not the one complaining about people complaining. If I was I would use it on whoever I didn’t want to hear complain.

 

I’m as big a fan as they come (go to several games each year watch every game) I’m just sick and tired of MT. I do go overboard at times but like you said it’s somewhat therapeutic for me to vent because I am passionate about the team. If I didn’t care I wouldn’t post or watch them. It’s just been far too long of the same old crap it becomes a boiling point. I’ve wanted him gone for several years as you all know. Most people are starting to agree.
