I saw on some NFL site he could be had in a trade would you do it? He could probably be had for a sixth rounder the Steelers have two picks in the sixth give up one of them for Blount. Although his running style is similar to Redman and Dwyer the Steelers could get back to ground and pound, the passing game isn't looking too great with Wallace gone and Miller injured.

I think you said it right there. I personally wouldn't do it. Why give up a 6th round pick if you already have 2 guys on your roster with similar attributes.

Yeah, I'm not sure what's the with wanting to load up on big plodders. To me it's a waste to even have Dwyer and Redman. I've never really been a big fan of guys like Rainey either, but get some speed back there. The same reason I'm not interested in Beanie Wells.

RB is a position we can definitely fill in the draft, because there's a lot of option in the middle rounds.

I wish we'd go after a pass rusher, because if we don't get one in round 1 the dropoff in talent is very steep.

The new rules pretty much make power backs, who are ONLY power backs, a thing of the past. No more plodding with the head down for a couple of yards. Bettis would have been a has been in the new rules, same with Earl Campbell.

He doesn't have a lot of wear and tear on his body and his AVG looks pretty good, but those 9 fumbles leap out at ya. His numbers look a tad better than Dwyer or Redman, overall. I'd take a chance on him for a 6th round pick. Remember folks, we are down two RB's with Rainey and Mendenhall being gone. Although, Dwyer could play his ass off this year. He's hungry, humble and very appreciative to be a Steeler. That's the recipe for success.

not true at all. Inside the tackle box which if I remember correctly is like tackle to tackle and five yards from the line of scrimmage both ways the runner can lower his head. Jim Brown said he never used his helmet he would use his shoulder and forearm. I don't really remember Bettie using his head like a ram he normally would put a shoulder into the guy. I power back shouldnt needt use his helmet against a db.

This is not what the rule says, you are allowed to do it at the line of scrimmage, it's only once you are outside the tackle box that you aren't allowed. If you look at a vid that has been posted in another thread of the Bus running over Urlacher, he doesn't use his helmet, he ran over him using his shoulder. I don't think the Bus would have been effected by this rule much at all. I still don't like all these rules screwing with the game though.

I really liked the way Blount ran when I first saw him and honestly thought I would have loved to had him. But isn't he the guy that sucker punched that dude in college and then sucker punched another dude when he was with the Titans? He runs like a beast but if he's a punk I say no. I do think he's better than Dwyer and Redman but if Dwyer is willing to really apply himself and make a solid number 2 I say leave Blount where he's at.
