Did anyone catch this? I missed it but apparently they were discussing the possibility of him being drafted by us and in the 1st round. I like him and pimped him in another thread but the first round is a reach for this kid, no?

Definitely a reach. I have been hearing buzz of him being the best RB in this draft, because he's more well rounded than a guy like Lacy (who's falling because of his lack of workouts).

I think if we want him we'd have to take him in the 2nd.

i have seen him as the forth of fifth best back. i dont think there is a big difference in the top 6. i think he will be there in the 3rd. lacy and bell are the 2nd rounders in my opinion

    From the article:
...one AFC official...wonders if Bell views himself as a "dancer," rather than a pounder with the ball in his hands.

Hmmm. And just who does this sound like??? :hmmm:

Seriously, if we do draft him I hope we don't reach for him at 17. If we wanted to trade down in the 1st round and pick up some extra draft picks I'd be okay with it.

With the new rule passed today, running backs are gonna have to be dancers in the new NFL, rather than pounders.

Eventually every RB is going to be like Reggie Bush and they're just going to be an extra receiver that lines up in the backfield.

I think the chances are remote he ends up a Steeler. I have to figure that we will take a WR in one of the first 2 rds, and since I can't see them taking him in the 1st, I don't think there is any way he will be there in the 3rd. And even if they take a WR in the first, I don't see them taking a WR and RB with their first 2 picks. We have to cash in one one of the good defensive prospects in the first 2 rounds.

I'd be pretty ticked if we went RB before the 3rd round. I don't see a franchise RB in this draft, but I see a lot of 3rd - 5th round guys who are just about as good as the 1st - 2nd round guys.

Ditto. Maybe the highest I'd go is late 2nd, if we traded back and it was our third pick. But we have too many needs to go RB that high.

Not really since inside the tackle box they can still lower their head. Once you are out of there a shoulder and forearm will do. Jim Brown said he never used his helmet he would only use his shoulder or hit the with a forearm shiver.

This would be correct, the Steelers are going to draft a RB, Its just which round there going to select him
This player will have to be ready to go quickly.

i read DLB wants vaccaro in the first. bell however has turned alot of heads in his workouts, showing he can pound it, get outside and catch the ball as well if not better then any RB in the draft. his speed was better then most first thought too. he does have that cutback ability for the ZBS. i wouldn't have a problem if they deciced to grab him in the 2nd if they thought he was their man.

they are saying franklin won't make it out of the 2nd round. lacy will go then and you know how these drafts go, once someone takes a position, it could start a run at that position.

if he's their guy they may decide to pull the trigger since RB is a pretty big need. i like him alot. the kid has proven to be a capable talent. let's face it we need some firepower on the offensive side of the ball.
