This is when the game ended yesterday.

I wasn’t able to watch the game til about the second quarter but on my way to that moment I was listening on the radio. On the old radio in the car I heard 3rd down and 1 Wilson in the shotgun 5 wide he drops back, loses the football, gets it back and sacked for an 11 yard loss. I should have turned the car around and not watched the rest of the game. I’m still pissed that this team is so dumb as not to run Warren for 1 measly yard. Punt. 30 yard return TD KC. GAME OVER!!!!!! Fire everyone please!Just very dumb playcalling.

That was unfortunate but when the goal should be to keep the high performing KC offense off the field then running up the gut on 3rd and 1 on the opening drive is the right call instead of shotgun 5 wide trying to throw the ball. Somebody needed to give Tomlin a football for idiots guide for Christmas.

 

This is quite possibly the dumbest chicken little the sky is falling bull**** take in the history of this board.

 

So throwing picks in end zones, penalties that take back touch downs, fumbles in field goal range isn't going to result in a win against a team like Kansas City. To win this game, they would have to play near perfect and then the game is still close.

I think the turning point was the Warren TD called back because of a "penalty" and then Wilson throwing a pick on the next play. Looking back, I believe that ripped the heart out of many on the team.

 

Sure. I just checked and you’ve been on this board about 6 months longer than I have but you have 6,000 less positive ratings. Most people just give up arguing with you because it seems to never end.

 

I don’t get why you are implying that was a bad call on the penalty. Washington grabbed the guy and threw him down. There were some very bad calls and no calls that went against the Steelers yesterday, but that was not one of them.

I hear you.... It was dumb as ****. The second down was also dumb... first play is a 7 yard pass, second play is a 1 yard run by Harris, who sucks, and then a bizarre 3rd down pass from empty set.

Why go empty set on 3rd and 1?? The OL can't block for ****, and they go empty set thus ensuring the DL is going to just pass rush.

Burleson, who is a great color commentator, was saying it over and over: keep Wilson under center, with 1 RB, spread the D out, and then have Wilson make a decision between run or PA pass. It's Wilson's strength.

The offense, while more creative, is still doing real stupid stuff. They keep changing RBs waaaay too often. Even if Harris, who is crap, somehow gets on a roll, he gets pulled and that 84 goes in. When 84 gets going, he's pulled and Warren goes in. When Warren gets rolling, he's pulled and Harris goes back in. It's just stupidness.

 

Quite a few people have said that was a weak call, we have seen TJ get held a lot worse with no holding being called.

 

JJ said that it's a right call during the game. JJ said a few times the technique employed is high risk in that if you "miss the swipe" you either get a penalty called, or completely whiff and cause a sack (later on Washington gave up a sack doing the same thing).

Whoever teaches these techniques to the OL and TEs sucks balls big time and should not be employed.

If JJ sees it watching from the broadcast booth, I'm sure other teams figure it out prepping for games and expect the same crappy technique.
