Hopefully then bright will Russ cause he isn’t the answer either. Maybe when a team eats 68 mil in dead cap space and pays 138 mil to get you out the building you shouldn’t sign that player and think oh man he is going to be the answer. At least Fields can run and when they let him start he was so afraid of throwing a pick that he wouldn’t let it go thanks to Tomlin but Russ can just throw 50/50 balls the whole game and nothing is said about his turnovers. Don’t worry Tomlin will keep Russ around so we can have more 500 seasons. Nothing will change till the coach gets changed period.

    Yeah I think I picked 7 -10 or 6-11. So I'm happier than a pig in slop!

He a one of the best on his staff last year. Look at the Vikings defense cause that’s when he went. Problem is Tomlin will never let anyone run the offense or defense and he can’t let go of the control hence why he only hoarse ones he can have as a figurehead.

So you want how a lot of the rest of the team is and not have heart? Because that's what's losing us games.

Only if the rest of the team had as much heart as Pickens .

Don’t give them that much credit. They are pessimistic.

He wasn’t wrong. He was open all day and either Russ wouldn’t let it rip or the Defense was in his face from the snap.

That doesn't excuse Pickens taking off his helmet on the field, it also looked like he ran the wrong route when Wilson threw that interception in the endzone.

WR’s run wrong routes. It happens sometimes. He was open all day and the Oline can’t hold up long enough for Russ to throw the ball.
Other problem is these slow developing plays. 3rd and 2 and we can’t get off a quick pass? Stupid.

We just care about not having a losing record, LOL. That standard is the standard.

Seriously though, no franchise QB, no Super Bowl. Bradshaw and Ben. How many others we had won it? NONE.

Calling the Steelers pretenders is an insult to the actual teams who are pretenders. We are not as good as they are so let’s not put them in that class. They are a team without an identity, no toughness, best WR is a head case at best, and the head coach is about as irrelevant as a Pop Warner Pee Wee special teams coach. Until the Rooney’s pull the plug on MT, this is as good as it will get.

Like you I've been saying this for a long time. I haven't been able to watch or really had the desire to watch the last couple years.

It's sad though because where I work there is a lot of football talk. Occasionally I will get asked about the steelers and will tell them things that will happen and games they will win or lose without even watching and be right almost every time.

They wonder how I can do it since I haven't been keeping up and the best way I can explain it is it's like a soap opera. I could have been not watching for more than 5 years and still confidently told the cowboy fans i worked with who thought for sure they would lose to the steelers that they didnt need to fret that game because its the same old song and dance or as others have called it "ground hog day".

This is who Tomlin is as a coach and nothing has ever happened to change my mind. I've always wanted to eat crow but we haven't been a threat in the playoffs in a long time. It's not the players or coordinators either. The only constant is Mike. He had so many years to get over the hump with a hall of fame qb and just couldnt do it.

Ever since cowhers players and leadership left he's been a modern day Marty shottenhiemer. He has a lot of good qualities but is mediocre or less in the areas that matter. It's too bad, we've had some serious talent come through the team in the last 12 years or so. Who knows maybe this is his greatest trick of all playing possum and this will be the year he serves up that crow for 'haters' such as myself to eat.

Anyway a long diatribe you or no one else wanted but the game was on today and I watched a little bit with my nephew who is so passionate like I was at that age. I encouraged him and told him you never know they might go on a run. But even at his young age he feels like it's a forgone conclusion come playoff time.

It really sucks to be a Steelers fan the past 15 or so years. Just awful. Wasted so much of Ben's best years (experienced, better, still young enough to get it done), with a clueless head coach and his awful coordinator hires.

We won't see the light of day, or stopped being laughed at by other fan bases, until we clean house and send Tomlin and his clueless hoard PACKING. Not going to happen for reasons no one can understand. Rooney needs to find his guts and his passion, apparently he doesn't care or this wouldn't have gone on for 5 years too long.

Something is wrong with TJ, is not showing the lateral quickness and speed, and without TJ, Austin is clueless, on top of it losing our best CB. Its easy to see what happened.

and Dan Moore has been exposed as a liability at LT. Most important position on the line for pass protection.

Nope. I was right there with you on that. I had no faith we would win today with what had happened in the 2 weeks before. I mean we are a bunch of pretenders.

This is almost always a Tomlin team thing except in his first couple seasons. Most of the guys he won the SB with were Cowher players then a mix against the Packers in 2010-2011 SB lose. It’s very frustrating being a Steelers fan for the last 6-8 years. The last good chance we had was 2016 AFC Championship game but Bell gets hurt in the first quarter and we get blown out by the hated Pats.

Whatever happened to all this season's losers of the year?
Every time I got to watchin', I needed another beer.
Then I woke up, the o-line are rollin' on the stadium turf.
Grabbing a hold, gettin' schooled', refs got the laundry out.

Mikey's alright, Artie's alright, they just seem a little scared.
    Pretenders, pretenders,
But they don't give themselves away, away.
    Hey, hey!

The russ we have been seeing is the russ broncos let go! He is not the answer! We better not sign him to a contract! He is done! He is overweight and slow and he holds onto the ball way to long!
