Same Old Steelers

Was really sad to watch this defense getting ripped the past 3 weeks.
Fixing this defense is my #1 priority after the season. Our LBs need to make more plays, they seem to be always out of position. Has TJ lost a step?
Our DBs can’t cover. We definitely need a new defensive coordinator. Just sick of watching the same defense the past 6 years.
On offense, we need to fix the offensive line and get another WR. We should have Justin Fields next season as our starting QB.

 

Im still full of emotion so not sure if its frustration or what but I am starting to think the DC is getting outcoached or is poorly coaching or simply out schemed.

Wish I can see the All 22 today. lol

 

Fields is good as gone.

I mean... Teryl Austin hasn't had the best of game planning since the beginning of the three game skid himself. Patrick Queen has also now regressed back to the beginning of the 2024 Season. Donte Jackson is getting targeted more and more with more and more success against him. No one on the IDL sans Cameron Heyward can really stuff the run.


Offensively?! Something very interesting that happened at the very end was Dan Moore being out for the game and having Broderick Jones along with Spencer Anderson out as the bookend tackles. This isn't to excuse Broderick nor Dan; both got their collective asses kicked today. However, let Dan walk and finally, and I mean FINALLY, see what Broderick can do at his natural home. Have Troy come back and continue to build the depth on the Offensive Line from there. On the subject of Offensive pieces?! Nabbing another WR is, at this point, a mandate. Non negotiable.


However, here in lies the kicker. Is everyone ready?!


A WR 2 vs. A CB 2?! Both are mandates at this point.


Take your pick!! Why?! The 2025 Draft has much more talented CBs than WRs. The question becomes which position will Pittsburgh nab first?! Time will tell.

 

At least he can run. Wilson has turned into a sack target and when he does throw it, there is serious risk of a pick.

 

Tbh with a pretty tough schedule this year I am surprised we have 10 wins. I think I thought the best case was 8/9 wins. And we do have a playoff game so who knows. We need everyone to play at a higher level in the wild card? Game

 

Yeah looking at the schedule you could tell right away that the Steelers better be at least 10-3 going into the final 4 weeks or they weren't making the playoffs.

 

I'm not saying he is but he was 4 - 2 as a starter. Wilson on the other hand is 6 - 4 as a starter. Any difference? Not much.

 

We were having this discussion today. What would the Steelers record be if Tomlin wouldn't have made the switch to Russell Wilson? I think it would be pretty much what it is now around 10-6.

 

First time in all my years where I don't even watch the full game anymore. I didn't even bother finishing the game before coming here to see the threads to see whether we won or lost.

 

Most of us said that. We best win early if we want a chance and we did just that.

 

Yup then crumbled. I mean at least it was expected…

 

The Steelers lost on the first series of the game by going 3 and out AGAIN and punting the ball away so the other team can get a TD. Rinse and repeat every week.

 

what MT said about this team is amazing. he called them a HS team. he said they have to look at how to fix it.

Neither QB is the answer.

 

Elliott said yesterday after the game that the D did not adjust at halftime, which I feel is an eye-opening statement/indictment.

 

Yes - same ol Steelers because we get out coaches on both sides and by the HC.

Not sure which announcer it was who made this comment a few weeks ago after showing a shot of Ausin on the field 'look at the play sheet he calls from, its the size of an index card" ...LOL.
We need a massive coaching makeover.

 

Justin Fields?!? My bad, it will only be Fields 5 year in NFL, he probably will have it figured out…. Said no one ever

 

Coach T is definitely the common denominator. Keep blaming players is getting old sorta like our playoff drought
Let coach T stepdown, he will get hired on the spot. Maybe he will succeed in a new atmosphere, but his time here is done. Thank you Coach T for all you done.
