There you got it. 3 games against top teams in good form, 3 terrible losses, did not stand any chance. This is the potential of the 2024 steelers, overrated asf in the middle and now back to reality. No fancy analysis needed, they were outclassed three games in a row and are simply not good enough. Settle your expectations. Guess what this highly overpaid defense is garbage when it matters and the offense stinks, Mr. unlimited or Mr. chicago bust, it does not matter. And yes, this is absolutely a rant. Feel free to join.

The Eagles, Ravens and Chiefs. It wouldn't surprise anyone if one of these teams won the Superbowl they are certainly a class above the Steelers. The Steelers were never Superbowl contenders this year but the goal of finally winning a playoff game still remains a possibility. It all depends on if we can beat the Bengals in 11 days or not. Lose and then we are on the road to Baltimore with little to no chance of winning. A win against the Bengals though sends us to Houston with around a 50% chance of winning. They are beat up and Stroud is in a terrible sophomore slump.

They just aren't that good end of story. It is what it is. Can't really see them being better next year as I doubt they will draft the QB of their future in April, so going to be like for this for the next long while. It's the 80's all over again.

So if we are 7 seed we probably get Bills and 6 seed probably Ravens. I guess getting a home game is gone??

One thing I learned after Bradshaw is it's hard as hell to find a franchise QB. Luck is involved (see Brady as a 6th rounder) and the right fit is a huge part of it also. I do think the Steelers will draft a QB in the later rounds but IMO they are all in on Wilson for 2025.

NFL is offense orientated, if I had to guess on Steelers first two picks in 2025 it'd be a Wide Receiver and O-line guy. Wilson will be a better QB with some damn blocking and people to throw to.

We would need to win next week and Ravens lose to win the division and get a home playoff game.

All I'm saying is ... it can't be the players. We've had and still have great talent. These players are never ready for big games. They self- destruct. Week in and week out ... they act like they haven't practiced or game planned. When we do have a very rare great game ... we all are surprised. Tomlin need better Asst coaches, because he's not a play calling type of coach. He's more of an overseer type ... more of a motivational coach.

No franchise QB, no chance, the Steelers don't have one, we wasted a 1st rounder on Kenny "cry baby" Pickett, and took a look at two guys who aren't the answer this year. So what's next?

Nothing ever changes, same season every season, every big game they're asleep, not motivated, not prepared and served up on a skewer.

Same script every season, same HC and same lousy assistant coaching.

The fish rots from the head every year, and as soon as they run into a tough slate of games they collapse.

The only people who should be satisfied with this product are Rich Eisen and his ilk who just love simping for Tomlin, they donlt care idf the Steelers win anything, they just love that old Mike Tomlin narrative every season.

Tomlin can't cut it at the elite level any more.

I’m okay with still looking at the big picture here. Not all is lost with this season just yet but with all that being said if the Steelers finish this season losing 5 in a row losing to Cincinnati next week and then in the first round of the playoffs to Houston or whoever then ownership of Art Rooney and the other minority owners need to really sit down and have a serious conversation about whether it’s time to part ways with Mike Tomlin. If Tomlin can’t win a playoff game this season then when will he do it?? I know they extended Tomlin through 2027 but that still doesn’t mean a change cannot be made and considered. Like how many years do we have to keep watching this same stale crap with a team lead by Tomlin and these late season collapses without some kind of accountability happening.

They're never going to do this, that's the problem. Tomlin is above accountabilty and gets rewarded for mediocrity.

All the sentiments you state are the same ones many of us stated after last season, there was no accountability then, and there won't be any accounability after this year either.

We have to keep watching this until MT retires.

We are not in the top tier of teams who play championship football. And we are not in the bottom tier of teams who get the high draft picks.

We are squarely in the ditch in between. The Steelers are the definition of mediocrity over the past decade. Tomlin is the poster boy for mediocre.

The standard is the standard and we know that standard to be average. That's what the steelers are. To believe they will be anything other than that with Tomlin at the helm is delusional.

Yea the media love outside of Pittsburgh here for Tomlin is just flat out nauseating. They act like this guy has won multiple Super Bowls in the last 5-10 years and is the greatest coach ever. I just don’t get why they think Tomlin is above criticism. And this is another collapse this year the way things stand now. When you have a 2.5 game lead essentially in the division with 4 games left you have to finish the job and win this division and unless the Ravens lose to the Browns at home next week and the Steelers win against the Bengals that isn’t happening. So it’s just flat out inexcusable. Like I mentioned in my last post I just don’t know what more has to be done for Rooney and ownership to start considering moving on from Tomlin once and for all if this Steelers team finishes the season on a 5 game losing streak and goes 1 and done in the playoffs and loses 6 of their last 8 games after being 8-2 at one point. Like at what point is enough enough and they finally realize that they just aren’t gonna win with this guy as the head coach anymore.

I agree and it’s flat out absurd that this is the way it is. There is no way that a lot of the higher ups in this organization besides Art Rooney can be happy with this crap. Like I mean sometimes things run their course. Like can’t Art Rooney see that or have someone who is close to him that can maybe get in his ear see that. It’s okay to admit when things aren’t working and that a change is needed and Rooney just will not do it. And until he does like you pointed out nothing will ever change.

I must admit that my black and gold sunglasses blinded me to the fact that this version of the Steelers is really not a very good football team. Yesterday removed ALL doubt about that. This team is poorly coached and even a franchise qb could not bring us to the promised land. I'd take a big helping of humble pie to get me through the rest of this season.

They're too "comfortable" with Tomlin and they cherish the organisational stability which has stood us in good stead for so long, but it's time to pass the torch, MT has had his time and endless chances to get things done late in the season and he can't do it. Every game is a slow start, every big game they come out asleep, and every season there's 2-4 unforgivable letdown losses.

What the Steelers should do is get the Lions OC for HC.... and break the bank to get Flores as DC from the Vikes. Plus a better OL coach.

    That sh!t will never happen.

They will never fire Tomlin. That being said, if they care about winning a SB at all they will force him to get rid of Austin and Pat Meyer.

Sadly, the 80's were better. Malone and Brister won playoff games.
