Bengals still on the bubble, should they need to win that game for a chance at Playoffs they will probably be favored. Steelers may be resting players.

He just plays it to safe and doesn't exploit other Teams weaknesses.. He keeps the same standard no matter the player... He should smack the OC for calling that damn pitch to Harris...He should smack the DC when he goes into that zone on 3rd. and long its a big play almost every time.

it's hard to open it up when the qb is under immediate pressure. We need a good oline coach

Tomlin is every players friend. It like having a son and treating him like a friend instead of a dad.

We have seen in the past three games that they are well off the very best teams. They have played three SB contenders and gotten their doors blown off each time.

I know Russ is getting a lot of the blame but personally I think the big change from earlier in the season is that the defence has collapsed. They’re not getting pressure and the secondary can’t cover. Part of it is injuries in the secondary.

Russ can still be an effective QB but he needs a defence and running game so that he can play from under center. He is never going to drag you back into a game against the Chiefs where they are scoring at will.

Sounds about right. And I was liking him a little better watching him on Hard Knocks. I may not watch rest of season.

I don't disagree with you but I think a lot of that is on Russ. He starts to panic way too early because as soon as he gets pushed back into a little bit, he can't see anymore because he's too small. And he starts to panic, dipping and dodging, and spinning around so he can try to see down the field. That's why he has so many passes batted down too. I'm not sure how he ever got to the point where he is being as small as he is, it's actually impressive.

When you have a bad OL you call quick passes..You use deception ..You stack WRS and Single the other side .. You run screens reverses roll outs..All kinds of ways to help a bad OL .. It starts with admitting they are bad...

he is a professional charlatan. He has fooled many for many many years. he is likable - for many reasons.

    but he is not elite.

we can do better in Pittsburgh

that has been my point for ~ 10 years now.

I can't blame MT. He's just doing what the Rooney's want him to do. Win enough to stay in the conversation. He's meeting his bosses expectations and more. If actually winning ships were the goal they would have fired him years ago.

In any organization, expectations come from the top and the Steelers are no different.

Well I'm not advocating to fire the HC.

But this mediocrity just sucks. I'm tired of it as a fan.

Their biggest mistake was not drafting a QB when Ben had a few years left.

    correct on firings.

Russ's cost comes DOWN each week.

and I will miss Najee each week, less and less.

man, he looks like he is running in molasses too much of the time......

correct - and that TOO was on Tomlin and Colbert. Tomlin largely. they WASTED a draft pick on Rudolph - they had NO IDEA what they were doing with that pick

NO IDEA at all, I said it then and history has born it out

Sometimes I wonder if the organization is scared to have a 2-3 win season which is what a total rebuild probably would do. Steelers don't have them in the SB era. Few 6 win seasons along the way but generally are above average. Maybe that is good enough for the organization????? I'd take a few embarrassing seasons to rebuild this team.

That's where I'm at right now. God Bless Cam, at his age he has had an amazing year. But the big men that play inside at that age tend to wear down as the season progress and now he is playing another regular season game and a playoff game. They might have something with Benton, but the defensive interior needs retooled. Other than a good play here and there, Fitz is just there. Elliott had a much more productive year. Watt is starting the downside of his career. And I think Tomlin needs to hire a quality defensive coordinator and stay in his lane. If this defense is going to get torched, I'd rather see it happen being aggressive than being passive.

I do wonder if just having 9-10 win seasons and making Playoffs is OK with organization.???

We got really lucky on one of those few 6-10 years to grab Ben at #11.

I think he would've been gone if he wasn't a MAC Qb.

Some posters were calling for it. It seemed so obvious. Ben certainly wasn't staying in good shape.

Is anyone really surprised we were blown out. We are who we are. Maybe win a round but everything will have to go well.

I'm sure that's not how they'd express it, but that's the result. Honestly, I think that the Rooneys value the "Steeler Way" and doing things like they've always been done more than anything else, including championships. They really value continuity and stability hence hiring GM's from within and not changing HC's. It's the "Steeler Way". In some ways, it's served them and the franchise very well for 50 years, so it's hard to argue against it. At the same time, it's that inability to change and adapt that has led to Xerox and IBM being where they are now compared to 50 years ago.
