Our probable first round matchup is the Texans we might see him again.

    The Steelers had no interest

They did not put in a waiver claim

    How do you know that?

The Texan's claim was higher than the Steelers, so did the Steelers and Chiefs lose out on signing DJ? From the Rumor Mill..... I am reading that both the Steelers and Chiefs had put in claims for DJ.

Ex-Steelers WR Diontae Johnson claimed off waivers by AFC playoff team | Sporting News
In case you were wondering, the Steelers did not get a chance to claim him, as the Texans were higher in the waiver priority.

I still don't understand why a player who was cut from a team would not be a free agent able to sign with any team he wants??? Will DJ be forced to play for the Texans under whatever they are wanting to pay him, or does part of the claim process mean that the team accepts his current contract?

The Texans now take on his current deal but it won’t be much given that the season is nearly over. They won’t be taking on any guarantees either.

It’s a low risk move with potentially high reward if it works out. Leaving aside all the off-field stuff I still think he is a good player

Steelers Did Not Submit Waiver Claim on WR Diontae Johnson

    Nah.

Not sure if this was a chess move ala Belichik, since they did lose Dell.

I did my homework before posting and apparently you did not

Multiple valid sources stated only two teams put in a a claim Houston and The Chargers

    The Steelers did not

I did not see a single rumor even suggesting they did

And the gobledy gook you posted says nothing
