In a way, I think GP being injured has been good for the team. It has forced the offense to look elsewhere rather than to the easy button. That can only make is stronger for the playoffs.

We are in the playoffs now. We are not getting a first round bye. The only thing we can in the last two games is to get a game at home. I would far rather GP is 100% rather than to use him in a game that is not going to help us a ton. Do what we need to do so that we arrive in the post season as healthy as possible imo.

Of course he is gonna play, apparently the rest of our Wr's aren't as good as Tomlin says they are

I agree with you.... My line of thinking is that I would rather have playoff teams fully healthy, even if that means we are on the road rather than pushing players that are slightly injured to play leading up to that to secure a home game.

Maybe we can do both. I obviously don't know the level of injury that our key players have. If we can play them without making their injury worse and without preventing it from healing for the playoffs, then we can probably play them. But what if GP is 80%, begging to play and they put him in. Now, are we ensuring that he will still be 80% at best during the playoffs? What if he gets worse?

I am not the coach and Tomlin has not called me for advice, but with a playoff spot secured and only a home game in the line, I would lean towards the conservative approach of sitting key players that are slightly injured to give them a 'bye' week. Or maybe give them lessened play time over the next two games.

The next two games mean nothing to me, but that third game is big.

How stupid is it play on Wednesday after playing on Saturday???
All so the NFL can show games on Christmas!

15 games into a season and the Steelers are playing on 4 days rest. This late in the season no team should play on a Wednesday or Thursday. Give players adequate rest if you want them to play their best.

FYI, I do not just blame the NFL. This would not have happened without agreement from the NFLPA. And fans willing to watch mid-week football games because they are unwilling to be deprived of football for even a few days. It’s all about the $$$$ for all sides. No one cares about the health of the players until they are 45 and on their 2nd knee replacement. Then we are cry and wring our hands.

No that game against the Bengals is very important. There is a big difference between playing at Houston and playing at Baltimore in the first round. I want to avoid the Bills and Ravens at all cost in the first round. And what if we pull off a shocking upset over the Chiefs on Christmas, then we can clinch the division and #3 seed with a win over the Bengals.

Yeah, these midweek games suck. Also sucks that we’ve had to do it twice after playing the ravens this season.

I hate the midweek games as well but let’s not use it as an excuse. KC has the same rest as we do and they need to go on the road. Other teams have injuries also believe or not.

it has created some new plays and made Arthur grow up some, to 'coach'

so, yes, adversity usually produces some good if used wisely in life

yes - there was A LOT OF WHINING about this 2 weeks ago - I hate it, HATE that the NFL did it in general.

but it was not some conspiracy against the Steelers, as some were asserting

Yes - the Ravens had the easier path...

Netflix gave the NFL 150 million for these two games on Christmas, they don't care about the players health.

Yep. Road teams on short rest should be at a disadvantage.

Most important thing for us is to have 100% Wattage, but I doubt we have that.

And injuries are some what of an excuse.
Detroit hasn’t had Hutchinson almost all season. Missing half their secondary, now missing starting rb and they are 13-2.
Can you imagine if we didn’t have Watt for the majority of the season?

Well, when you suck all of those years and get top 10 draft picks you can draft all of those offensive players.
