I think it was more of a headline hook than an actual analysis of how we look bad in the deal

I'm thinking that one of our more athletic linemen can get him on the second level.

I can see Harrison signing a 1 year Mendenhall type deal. He played his cards wrong.

Harrison in negotiations with the Ravens:

The Baltimore Sun is reporting that linebacker James Harrison, released by the Steelers last Saturday in a salary cap-related move, has been in negotiations with the Ravens, though no deal has yet been reached.

Teams are not paying fat bucks on FA over thirty from what i hear Parise has spoken to many teams out there and none want to invest. Not sure the Rats will bite either..debo needs to humble and accept a one year deal here in the nation.

This really torques me off. I know, I know, it's a business decision. Yeah right!!! It's kind of like when you're in HS and you're dating a certain girl and you decide to break up. And there is this one guy that you're kind of jealous of and that you consider your rival and she decides to go running to him THE MINUTE you break up. It sucks big time and I'm still not over it, er, I mean James will tarnish his legacy in Black and Gold if he signs with the pathetic purple of the Ratbirds.

That might be what it is, he's mad at the Steelers and wants to throw it back in their faces, just like Wes Welker did. I bet Welker could have got more money elsewhere, but he wanted to slap the pats in the face.

I kind of think JH is upset he was cut and wants to get back at the Steelers

Whats the slap in NE's face by Welker signing with Denver? If he signed with the Jets, that would be a slap. You mean because he's playing with Peyton? I don't think that means anything to them.

It's better to get rid of a player a year too early rather than a year too late, Harrison is a 35 year old OLB coming off knee and back injuries. Worilds can match his production Harrison only had six sacks. Casey Hampton took a pay cut last season and Bettis also did in the past Harrison let his pride get in the way, I had to unfollow him on twitter and facebook.

Yeah, I'm waiting to see where he decides to play whether or not I continue to follow on Facebook. He posts A LOT. Don't want that clogging up my newsfeed. Especially if it involves the Rats.

There are 3 of us die hard Steeler fans at work. I told them the other day if JH signs with the ratbirds or the cheatriots, his legacy as a Steeler is tarnished forever. Business or not, there are just some things you dont do.

Peezy got a standing ovation when he came back to the 'burgh. Wallace will get booed and if JH signs with those 2 teams, he will as well.

I know this has already been covered, but Harrison did play for the Ravens, right? We cut him a fair few times early on...

I won't, man busted his ass for us, left everything on the field and gave us one of the greatest SB plays ever, guy gets nothing but respect and applause from me. Won't be crazy about seeing him in that putrid uniform but not going to begrudge him for it either.

And many of his posts are sales jobs to prospective teams i.e. up at 5:45am to work out, training hard, hitting the legs today, etc., etc. Shut up already, James. You are a 35 year old (ancient) linebacker who has had MAJOR back and knee problems. No team with any fiscal sense is going to throw a big contract at you. I appreciate what you did as a Steeler but if you're bent on being a Ratturd now that's you're prerogative. You will be the enemy and you will look like a pathetic old man in that puke purple of the Rats.

TE this isn't like Franco signing with the Seahawks or Mike Webster signing with the Chiefs (I know, before your time, right?). This is one of our star players RUNNING TO OUR MOST HATED RIVAL THE MINUTE HE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY sucking up to them and telling them how great it would be to play for them since they are the Super Bowl champs and such a great organization and how honored he'd be if they just gave him a chance. I know it's been said that it's his agent pursuing this opportunity but I think we all know where it's originating from. I know I'm probably overreacting but from my perspective JH WLL tarnish his legacy if he signs with the Rats.

lol, no man, became a fan in 76, wish I was that young though :lolol: Are you going to sit there and tell me none of that stuff means anything to you? Carries no weight? Does for me, outweighs him playing for the Rats. Putting on that uniform doesn't erase all he did for us. Besides, he was a Raven once before ;)

The Steelers cut HIM. He doesn't owe them anything. Loyalty is a two way street. You fire me, I'll go to work for whoever I damn we'll please.

Even Joey P had enough Steeler pride to refuse to 'wear those silly ass stripes' when the bungals tried to sign him.

As usual, I've gotta agree with this.

I'd cheer my arse off for him regardless of who he suited up for.

I don't, however, want him to publicly state he WANTS to go play for them. If he signs with 'em, fine. But don't tell your fans you WANT to go play for our most hated rival.

If Rod Woodson can go win a Super Bowl with the Rats and still be loved in the Burgh, no reason Harrison can't go there. At least James WON TWO RINGS with us!
