A friend many years ago took me out on Cape Cod to a clam shack and said we were going to have fried clams and I thought yuck

    That thought went away quickly

Same thing happened with a different friend who suggested we order steamed clams

My mother was Irish I grew up on boiled potatoes

If anyone is ever in Chicago area I highly recommend Bob Chinn’s Crab House

    https://www.bobchinns.com/

Especially the blue crab claws with garlic

I love most seafood but, there are some I just won't eat. Raw clams, oysters and crab. I'm spoiled in that, for years, I worked for a guy who wouldn't eat any seafood that had been frozen. We had some form of seafood almost every day so, we ate what we caught same day. Sometimes to the extreme! For instance, once we ate lobster for breakfast lunch and dinner for 6 straight days (think Bubba and the shrimp)

I agree - I should have included the words "self-proclaimed" crab capital. It's like Philly where everybody sells Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches. Everybody in Baltimore sells some variation of crab this and crab that with lots of crab cake assortments. I thought their crab cakes were pretty good but I haven't been to The Salty Dawg to try theirs.

Are we talking the same Salty Dawg Saloon? The one I was at was on Homer Spit Alaska and they don’t bother with food.

I told my wife I thought fried okra tasted like fried boogers

So she thought she had me so she asked how I knew what boogers tasted like

I reminded her at one time I was a kid

Seared scallops wrapped in bacon sautéed in onion butter, grilled asparagus and scalloped potatoes. NY cheese cake thick like cement. Go Steelers!

Ok are the scallops seared or sautéed they aren’t the same

Do you start with raw bacon on the scallops or do you partially cook it first

I just bought a bag of scallops

It’s funny, I know so many guys who will eat raw oysters but not sushi. Good raw salmon or tuna is silky smooth while a raw oyster is pure slime. Bleh.
