Why is the pitch out to Najee still in the playbook?

There are a few posters here who seem to get more miserable the more the Steelers win

It’s like they want everyone to be miserable

Every post is a repeat of prior poorly thought post

There are about 10 of them but they are incessant

And the trolls don’t even know they are trolls and certainly don’t like being told

    Rant over

Happy Holidays to the Steeler Fans

I know I was just having fun with the people saying 7-11 wins. That’s quite the spread.

If anyone is miserable when the Steelers are “good” and winning that means they are not an actual Steelers fan. If people are critical because it’s smoke and mirrors well that’s another story. I was buying into the team this year until the Browns game but was willing to chalk it up as one game. Philly game showed me just how truly far away we are. Today could be worse. Baltimore is going to want to absolutely pour it on.

For whatever reason Philly has their number. I want to see how they bounce back against the Ravens. If they play well, thats a big boost especially with the injuries and can just pass off the Philly game as being Philly.

Agreed. I guess people forgot how bad they made us look in 2008 at their house, and Yet ....I believe we still made it to the SB that year.
We haven't won in Philadelphia since 1965, and yet we have won 6 SBs in that time, and went to 8 in that same time.

Its definitely just one game against a good team. Being a rivalry game (and us having Lamar's number for some reason), I think it should be a close one today. I hope that we get enough offense to win, but it will be a long shot. We gotta gameplan something different for today, I just don't know that we will. Tomlin doesn't like to try to "trick" the opponent or scheme anything too different. He kinda just lines it up and hopes his guys win the 1v1's more than the other guys during the game.

that is because you are using common sense. many here assume that being critical or observant is somehow hateful - it is the 2024 culture.

many here are just HOMERS and CHEERLEADERS but unable to see reality. Tomlin is tracking to do Tomlin like things with this team. Defense plays too much Patty Cake (they are not living up to their talent) and the offense is being run by Mini Mike Arthur Smith.

BOTH sides of the football are predictable.

We jumped out to a 10-3 record (which should have been ~12-1), which was nice, but yes, the Browns loss in CLE was inexcusable. We were not super impressive vs. them 2 weeks ago and then Philly measured us correctly.

I have to beleive that with an elite level QB we could win another SB before I die, otherwise I am wasting my time watching.

I am 53, I'm starting to worry, and I 'aint quitting drinking, so my window is closing!

I mean I’d like to think you don’t need an elite QB. Winning with a journeyman QB is definitely highly unlikely but I think a solid QB with a good team and coaching can. Russ seems like a solid QB unfortunately we have a very weak WR group and coaching.

    correct

and - spoken ALL SEASON long - they drafted Wilson, expected some production. Got nothing. part of our PROBLEM is A Smith. and then 2 QB's, and then NO RUNNING ATTACK!

Most here said Austin SUCKED - I was one of the few that said "no he does not - just wait and watch"

Khan had his eye on a number of high quality WR's, as you say - he just would not give away the farm.

Repeat: they SPENT THEIR $$$$ on the DEFENSE

I'd like to think that, but it's such a fine line to tread to win without one. Our offense is currently not good enough, but I think that's as much to do with being awful in the 20, and an inability to sustain drives too. No-one watching this team is confident we're turning another we're turning yet another hsort field after a turnover into 7.

With a defense and great ST, wew have a winning formula against weak/medocire opposition, not against the elite in January.

Team is what it is now, they're not finding that consistentcy in short field/key down situations this late.

edit: And anothet thing we start way too slow, the 1st quarter is basically lost most weeks.

correct - so - he was banged up Yr. 1 and under Canda-duh / Tomlin / Pickett, he was doomed to suck. But - this year, I expected what we are beginning to see. he is talented. Russ is bringing some of that out.

There was always a player in there, get him the ball thrown in front of him so he can use his speed without breaking stride. It's all about skill sets. It's like the utter mis-use of Harris on toss sweeps, he's as slow as mollasses, even if that play is well blocked he's not the optimal player to use on that kind of call. A 8 year could see that.

They got Mike Williams, a player with clear and obvious skill set matched with a QB whose best skill at this point in his career is the moon shot, have they utilised that synergy? - Nope. Van Jefferson a guy with zero tool is playing.

    Just like we said!

Players who can make something out of not a lot, Harris cannot do that, every other WR on the team can't do that except 14.

    Players, not plays.

Andy Reid would have made Austin a star.
