that is what they will do. they will suffer for it, in my opinion. this is an OPINION board. I hope MikeyT reads it and learns but he will do what he does. IF TJ and PICKENS are out, we don't have a snowballs chance. I don't know how else to tell you all.

Even if TJ plays, w/o Pickens, this offense is paralyzed. I am not a fan of A Smith at this point. When you have this talent of Najee and Warren in the backfield, with some bright young talent on the OLINE and #80 on the oline, you ought to be able to run better.

seems many teams know our playbook, before we even snap the ball.

If the Steelers beat the Ravens Saturday, they win the division no matter what happens the rest of the season. If they lose that game, but beat the Chiefs and Bengals, they also win the division no matter what the Ravens do.

I know but I don't think we can beat the Ravens or the Chiefs. That is why I didn't mention those 2 teams. My point was if we would have beaten the Eagles then all we needed was a win against the Bengals in week 18.

Nobody said plan to lose. You play to win, but rest starters. You people act like this is a new concept, and has never been implemented in the NFL. LoL

I can see your point in retrospect after being flattened by the Eagles, now we have to limp into Baltimore as 7 point underdogs in a game where we have little to no chance of winning. I thought that the Eagles game was the best chance to win a game up until the Bengals game but they were much better than we were.

Here was my whole thing about it all, and why I was calling for resting players in the Eagles game. I knew out of all the games we could afford to lose, the Eagles game was the best one......especially knowing we had 3 games in 11 day coming up, 2 divisional, and a conference game.
Now I don't know about You,,but I have never had to play 3 games in 11 days. I wouldn't even want to think about it, and I knew that was coming. I don't know if I've ever know anyone that has played 3 games in 11 days as a starter.
Therefore the Ravens game, and the Bengals game should have been our biggest priority. Again.....JMO

I’ve never seen it done by a team that hadn’t clinched its seed for the playoffs. We didn’t even clinch a playoff spot until after we lost.

I never seen a schedule with 3 games in 11 days . Sometimes the Guys in charge need to think about things.

The NFL schedule makers commented that they had no idea what they did to the Steelers until they already released the schedule and it was too late to change it, lol.

    agreed.

    it is deplorable.

that is why I'd LOVE TOMLIN TO FLIP THEM ALL THE BIRD ON SATURDAY

our odds with an unhealthy Pickens and Watt are near 0.

Plus the Ravens had basically 2 weeks off before the game on Saturday. They had their bye the week before and they had what amounted to a pre-season warmup against Danny Devito and the Giants.

I hear what You are saying. I just wished they had done it last week, and then went all out this Saturday.

Maybe. I’d probably want to lock up the #3 seed first. Of course, the #3 seed could get a worse matchup than the #4 seed.

would be best, but unlikely, THAT is my point.

this is the case if Pickens and Watt are not or SHOULD not play.

I don't understand why you would think the Eagles were an easier opponent than the Ravens or the Chiefs. The Eagles are better than the Ravens. They have a better record. They have better talent. They beat them head-to-head. I know some people were fooled by them letting the Panthers hang around, but the Eagles are among the top three or four teams in the NFL this season.

The Chiefs seem to let everyone hang around, but it looks like Mahomes won't miss any time with that ankle injury and they get Hollywood Brown back this week.

I keep seeing people argue that all four teams playing Christmas Day got stuck with the same problem. That is not true and you just explained why it is not true.

    This x 1,000.

I don't think Steelers will beat the Ravens in Baltimore without Watt and Pickens, but Steelers match up much better against the Ravens than they do the Eagles. Hell.... Steelers match up better against Vikings and Lions than the Eagles. Eagles are like the Belichick/Brady Patriots vs. Steelers. Steelers never matched up well against the Patriots... and 2004 and 2011 wins were absolute miracles.

Yeah, that is dumb. I don't care if the schedule is bs or not. This is a game that if we win, we win the division and get a home playoff game. If we were going to be losers and sit a bunch of players, then last week was the week to do it. Can't do it against a rival with the division on the line. I don't care about the statement. The NFL doesn't care about individual teams and it will hurt the NFL absolutely zero to do that to them. It only hurts us.

Its a rivalry game, our chances are a lot better than zero. I obviously don't think our chances are as good as they were last game, with Pickens and Watt, at home... but our chances are fine enough. We took a wildly better Baltimore team to OT in 2019 with Duck Hodges at QB. Our 2015 team that was a Fitz Toussaint fumble away from beating Payton and the eventual SB champ Broncos in the playoffs and go to the AFCCG lost to Ryan freaking Mallett... Rivalry games throw out the record and personnel. We have a shot.
