One thing for sure is that there is zero percent chance that we win at Baltimore without Pickens and TJ.

so what do they do? They can’t rely on the offense. Gotta get creative on defense. Stunts, blitzes something. Can’t just keep playing your base shell hopefully watt or highsmith makes a play. The other teams knows you’re doing that.

He did in both games against the Browns, but they didn't blitz much in the lost in Cleveland.

They may have to change their approach if they lost Watt.

They are one of the low blitzing teams in the NFL. Teryl Austin is not an aggressive play caller on that side of the ball.

What really hurts was the stupid penalties ,blocking through out the endzone..I really think if we we gotten a TD there this game be different..Specials teams, defense
gave the offense the ball twice in 1 minute. only 3 points to show for those take aways..

Let's hope that is true. Players say they are fine and turn out to not be fine all the time.

They got beat pretty bad. What would you expect when the team is down a key defensive player and your best offensive weapon? Figured they would lose and they did. However, some of you doomers have serious cope issues.

One thing that NEVER escapes an Austin defensive group is the long 3rd down conversions. Never fails. They are horrid

that is what I meant. If you rough the punter the offense keeps the ball. I see now "you" was meant about the receiving team

So if you rough the punter after the ball is punted you still get to keep the ball?

That's an interesting point. It certainly is annoying that a lot of the calls on Philly were inconsequential with them being half the distance of nothing and holding calls once the game was already decided.

So according to the refs. The foul on Conner was not as an attempt to block the kick so the penalty would be enforced as if the receiving team was in possession of the ball.

Except for fouls that are committed in an attempt to block the kick (such as running into or roughing the kicker, defensive holding (pull-and-shoot), leverage, leaping, and pushing teammate(s) into the offensive formation), if the receiving team commits a foul during a scrimmage kick play that crosses the line of scrimmage, the penalty for its infraction will be enforced as if it had been in possession of the ball at the time the foul occurred (a post-possession foul), provided that the receiving team does not lose possession of the ball at any time during the down. The penalty shall be enforced from whichever of the following spots is least beneficial to the receiving team:

So, Apparently clubbing a guy right off the snap while trying to get to the kicker is not an attempt at blocking the kick. But being tackled into the LS is considered during the kick.

They just said on Fox negative X rays on Watt and probable low ankle injury. Of course an MRI might show something else. I'd even be happy at this point if he only misses the rest of regular season and can play in playoffs

The only saving grace about this weeks games for me is, the Chargers got stomped. In their house. By Tampa Bay!

Correct and opposing team's pass schemes > our zone/coverage schemes, more often than not. Brady even said it today in the broadcast about his experience playing against our defense. Something to the effect of tempo being important playing against us because it forced PRECISE COMMUNICATION on our defenses part and if they weren't on the same page, Brady had feel days over the middle of our zone coverages
