The focus needs to be on getting him out there for the Ravens game if at all possible. The Steelers are a very long shot to get the top seed, so all that really matters is winning the AFC North.

The 1 seed is a long shot but I do believe the 2 seed is in play and important. If we are to win rd 1 a game vs Buffalo at home vs on the road is a big difference. That being said if GP can further risk his hamstring and possibly knock him out for the playoffs not much you can do.

Many will skip this. They will actually act like that never happened.
People don't like that to be a reminder that what a Team tells the public isn't always true, and it's not just the Steelers....it's the NFL teams.

It was a long shot to beat the Eagles in Philly with Pickens. Sit him and rest him we need him for AFC Teams. I’m still picking the Steelers in my prediction email, can’t pick against my team, LOL.

You better start thinking about what you going to serve as a side dish because he wont be playing against Philly

The way it was reported (via Tomlin's explanation, I think) at the time was Brown was SAYING he had a problem with his knee early in the week and hence why the team reported it as such. When they finally sent him (on Friday) to get a MRI on his knee he went AWOL. Then his agent called Sunday and said he was feeling better and could play, but Tomlin was not having it. Tomlin said he left him on the final injury report due to a lack of communication about what was going on with Brown.

Do I find this plausible? Yes, especially with how erratic Brown had been acting. Do I think that Tomlin would air his doubts ahead of a game about what was going on with Brown and that he wasn't communicating and skipping meetings? Of course not.

But I think the most likely scenario is AB was pissed off and didn't want to practice and came up with the knee excuse.

For the 'can't beat the Eagles crowd', one week ago, the Eagles scored the go ahead TD with less than 2 minutes left in the game. The Panthers almost beat the Eagles. While that does not mean we will beat them, it does mean that that the chance is there.

well on Hard Knocks Zach Azzanni told the WR on Friday that he didn't know the status of George "with the hamstring" but told them all to be ready.

he is 'just starting to believe'

I can't tell you how many people think it is a RUSE that Pickens has a hamstring injury.

like Tomlin is trying to TANK the season.....

correct - most of us HERE knew that from the INJURY REPORT on Friday! I say most because it was not all. I entered the weekend knowing he was questionable.

and it was not "2 minutes" before kickoff....

I don’t know about the grade 2 that’s not confirmed anywhere

Although one of the receivers on the radio just said he was in the locker room in street clothes when he was told to suit up

So no it was not discipline and yes it was a late decision

the grade is subjective. the injury - as we all (most) know - is real.

Tomlin cannot, would not play with League Rules like that. This stuff was known on Friday last week.

Exactly. The conspiracy theory was nonsense. The idea someone raised that the media would just defer to the Steelers and help them sell the lie was even more ridiculous. The grade 2 report came from Dulac, so it is worthless, but Pickens is injured. The hope right now has to be that he can play against the Ravens.

I don’t think Pickens will play another regular season game this year.

On what are you basing that? That is quite the turnaround since you were the one pushing the conspiracy theory that the injury was made up to cover for the team benching him and the media went along with it to defer to the Steelers. lol

any 2 eyed humanoid with a keyboard and email is allowed to log on and poast here - I am PROOF of that!! LOL!!

the reports early said a 2-4 week injury. Let's just stay with that , for now. If he can suit up for Baltimore, they will have him out there. this thing has been comical, to say the least.

I should ask you a similar question: on what basis you believe Pittsburgh can't beat Philadelphia without Pickens? When you mentioned that earlier I was stunned. Pittsburgh is fielding a complete team this year.

Minus a decent receiver for the Philadelphia game

    That’s not a complete team

Again.....for like 500 times....nobody said it wasn't real. Even if You only played JR High football. You have some injuries after this many games.....if You just didn't ride the bench. So it's very easy for a team to pick one of those nagging injuries, and use it.....What I have suggested is that it could be(Keyword).....could be both. Would anyone like to bet me 500 real dollars that I can't find discrepancies in what coaches/teams have said to the public, and what actually ended up being, or happening more than 5 times this year throughout the NFL???
Again....I never said it did happen, but that it could have happened. It would not be the 1st, or last time a player was disciplined, and the public was told it was a sickness, a family matter, or an injury. There is many proofs of this throughout the years.

The Eagles are at home. They have a better record than the Steelers. They have the league's best rushing attack, two dangerous receivers, and an outstanding defense. The Steelers have a strong team, too, but as jeh pointed out, they are not a complete team without Pickens. The rest of the receiving corps isn't very good.

Your prediction regarding Pickens seems to be pulled out of nowhere, and it seems odd that you went from saying he wasn't really hurt to arguing that he won't play again this regular season.

2nd game out. I saw a report today by Fittipaldo and said he could miss the next 3 games. Ugh.
