It’s been 19 year ago to this day that Jerome Bettis ran over Brian Urlacher in an absolute must win game coming off a disappointing mid season to Lead us to a SB trophy. Can somebody post a video? I’m not tech savvy enough on my phone.

A little known personal fact on this play. Back on the old Steelers message board a couple days leading up to this game I posted that “I want to see Bettis run over Urlacher”. The very next response was from some other poster that read “Not gonna happen”. The moment Jerome did just that, I responded back “Happened!”. Some things you never forget. Now, where did I put my keys?

I have a framed picture of Bettis running over Urlacher in the snow .
The "moment " we knew we could finally win another Super Bowl after the 70s.

Some of my favorite moments from that game are the ones captured by NFL films crews on the sideline. Seeing Hoke and the boys standing in front of the Canon heater saying " ride the Bus, ride him" or Mike Logan with "Damn the Bus got snow tires?" All leading up to that iconic moment.

A lot of people don't admit to this,,but back on that board that year, and the year before....many, many people were hating on the Bus.

The 3 games before the Steelers beat Chicago and never lost again that season. They averaged 84 yards rushing. The remaining games including playoffs and SB they averaged 158.4 yards a game.

I remember being at that game and when the snow started falling heavy everyone started cheering the snow. Never had so much fun being soaked and cold. We were up in the endzone metal bleacher seats, which I believe is the end Bettis scored on.

You can look at Porn on your phone, but you can’t post a video? What’s up with that?

Well I could probably post porn on here but a football video would be challenging. Mods might make me take down the latter.

I wasn't a part of any Steelers forum at that time so I had no idea. I never heard anything negative about Bettis in my circle.

Bettis, Troy and Ward. What a trio that was. There's not many guys like that out there, and we had all 3 at one time.
How can any football fan watch those guys play and not instantly be a Steelers fan.

You should have heard then when the Bus had all his tds ,,but didn't really start a game. OH how they complained that He was taking tds away from the guys that ...as they put it....deserved it. It was quite comical, they were saying things like ....He didn't deserve to still be on the team, and other crazy stuff.

It was a farce...Even if he was not the same at the end of his career he was still great in short yard and goal line situation!...He was still important!

Fixed it for you SF43. BTW - I think I knew this but just re-read that FWP is Jaylan Warren's cousin. Great genes. Glad they are/were both Steelers. :towel:
