I would think Dwyer can handle the load if he commits himself and Redman is a great short yardage back, he gets hit behind the line but still manages to gain at least a yard. Mendy was good but behind the oline that we put on the field he didn't fit, he was always looking for the hole and it was rarely there while Dwyer and Redman just made their own which is why they looked so good, they just don't have the burst of quickness at the second level that Mendy had. How many times have we watched the back take a hand off and get hit before the line of scrimmage? Almost every running play it happened and any yardage gained was a result of a broken tackle early and I think that even an Adrian Peterson or Arian Foster would look mediocre at best behind the units we have had for the last few years. The Bus had some remarkable power along with some pro bowl olinemen and full backs that could block, not the D.Johnson that sort of chips the defender and often misses the point of attack entirely. I fear the running game may be bad again no matter who the back is.

you comparing dwyer and redman to the top backs in the league? if so that isn't what were comparing them to, you could do the same comparison with Mendy and the league and the #'s would be the same,,i was comparing them to Mendy since some people are upset that he's gone,,,that's where the comparison is,, to what is gone and what we still have....we haven't lost anything, Mendy is average when healthy

remember Dwyer was playing with a bad hamstring for the most part, and Redman with the gimpy ankle, before the injuries they were moving the pile, Redman got it back near the end of the season.. Overall their career stats read 4 yards per carry

An average of 4 yards per carry is good.
An average of 47 yards a game isn't as impressive.

In 2011 Dwyer had 7.7 yards per carry, and avg 17 yards a game.

This is all pretty meaningless, though - Dwyer still needs to get into better condition to achieve his full potential.
