My thoughts on regular season wk 14

Unless they break a long standing self imposed habit, won't happen or get past this post.

 

The entire BYE thing (not because it's Ravens) really irks me. I remember long ago when it started 3 rd week of the season, went la time after the mid point, but this is ridicules. I know the networks want a certain number of games every week, the extra week, and hacking up the games weekly with Thursday and in other countries probably bring this about, but it really sucks.

 

Yep, great summary. Regarding #10, Wilson was very uncomfortable early on without Pickens, but he did the veteran thing and found a way to win. I want to see both Williams and Pickens out there and what Wilson can do with that combo.

 

Bengals are going to have to win their next four games for us to end their playoff hopes in week 18.

 

Probably cheaper to re-sign Moore and trade Seamalu, if they choose to move Fautanu to LG.

 

Probably won't get the highest LT contract, but with the amount of starts he has had and the arrow pointing up he is going to get paid quite handsomely by someone. There will be plenty of calls to his agent, LT is a premium position.

 

Someone posted a tweet about Muth in the gameday thread, while overall numbers have been down, the key contribution (especially the last few games) are adding up. I think Williams will only add to every ones production if he gets on the field more.

 

Probably some high draft picks in NCAA scared the Browns will get them.

 

Russ also had a few well-timed runs.

 

They will pack it in way before that.

Hs had a rough start today. Nice thing was he made some clutch throws down the stretch. Maybe the plan changed because of Pickens absence and they may have decided to get away from that later. I would guess they attempted to simplify it and finally started throwing the ball down field

 

Why is this interesting? He's a backup.

 

Special mention to Scottie Miller for that sideline catch that kept a late drive alive.

 

I think both have been done for a while now.

I'd like to see Fields in a slash role. Can he catch? I don't think Tomlin will commit to that but once in awhile is OK.

Say this for the Steelers, we have a decent back-up QB. If Russell would not have come back we would not be 10-3.

Yes he did. The 1st half wasn't the best of times and that goes with the offense as a whole including Smith. And i'm sure there were some who wanted to see the Gimmick in there. Didn't get a snap. And i'm glad. Wilson also showed he has some wheels.

I feel confident this Offense led by Russell Wilson can make a solid run in the playoffs. Field General...

 

No, they don't do contract extensions during the season.

 

Haven't seen a Steelers OC/QB make halftime adjustments like that since 2005....Whisenhunt/Roethlisberger. Smith and Wilson did a good job today adjusting to Browns D.

 

Exactly. There is more to playing the position than sacks. He was doubled, or tripled 17 times last game....I haven't looked at this game again yet,,but I will bet it will be close to the same

Why continue to force guys to play a different position? Fautanu is a LT. If he’s better than Moore than let him play LT. If Daniels is willing to come back then we are set

 

Not to say He can't play LT, but Many, many , many people thought guard would be his best possible position in the NFL
