c'mon, we are better than the browns. play like it. enough of this crap. whip them into submission and send them away. :smiley1:

i'm supposed to be in the local Christmas parade and i thought it was Saturday but it turns out it's Sunday. i'm going to spend the rest of the week trying to get out of it. Saturday night is the company Christmas party so i have to be out of it by then. my throat is starting to feel scratchy.:hehehe:

i'm going to try a ground beef and rice taco type recipe i found. salsa, taco mix, sour cream, ground beef and rice. sounds pretty good to me. i'm thinking of adding some crushed up taco chips in it as well. not in the original recipe but hey why not? what you got?

My mother bought me a Heinz Field cookbook recipe back in the early 2000’s. It has recipes from a bunch of the players back in the day. I forget the players name but there is an awesome southern style ribs recipe in there and that sounds like a winner to me. Baked potatoes to go with.

This is a 'Big Game' despite Cleveland's record.
They played well against the Broncos..... Winston still throws to the wrong team.

I'll be home for this one.
Blue Crabs and Beer with Steamed Shrimp on the side.

We get a free turkey from our market every year. We get the smallest one we can find. 5-7 pounds. I look hard for the 5 pounder. Cook it in the crock pot.

It's a long story but lets just say that due to a family squabble on my Lady's side the week before T Day there were 8 fewer mouths to feed and no take home leftover packages to deplete the stockade. Hence, mass quantities of Turkey. To further compound the situation, the MIA's were supposed to bring all the sides and desserts and I was only on the hook for the turkey - so I ordered/procured the best that money could buy from a local meat market (organic, free-range and all the other healthy stuff for a very large sum vs the freebee/low cost versions I usually get at the chain markets at Thanksgiving.) So we ended up with the Midas of turkeys but had to scramble for sides and desserts the day before). No complaints - just a bit more info to 'splain the circumstances.

Green vs black - a combo of timing and brine curing process. I planted several "non-fruit bearing" olive trees at my Phelan (CA) Groovy Ranch back in the day that grew quickly, stayed green year round and were pretty drought tolerant. Many years later, for unknown reasons, they all bore an abundance of olives - I mean thousands! Some were green, some were green/black by the time I picked them. I researched what to do with them, when to pick, how to cure, how long etc etc. I spent a bunch on numerous large handsome designer ceramic canning jars (for potential future gifts?) and curing ingredients. I tried several methods and tried different curing times and after all was said and done, it was a complete flop of an experiment and the worst tasting morsels I ever consumed - bitter to the hilt! I chucked the whole works and went right down to the market and for about $2 bought a nice jar of pimento stuffed green olives and enjoyed them thoroughly. Lesson learned - leave the tough stuff to those who do it for a living.

Olive trees do take a very long time to fruit

During WW2 the military plowed down groves of old olive trees in Spain to build runways and barracks and they didn’t understand why the locals were so angry

Not for olives. It's when they are taken, and processed. At least that's what I was told by my Uncle
