His coach defended his actions. He should be suspended too.

Tough for Lawrence. I thought him and Burrow would have a lot of battles when they came into league.

It was late, but one game should be enough.
Also....Qbs should be flagged for sliding late, faking like they are going to slide, and faking they are running out of bounds. Enough is enough.

I heard one of the talking heads yesterday say that they should move the ball back on a sideline run by qb
that fakes like they are going out of bounds and then continues to run. idea makes sense.

I'm all for this. They changed the rule when Pickett did it in college, but they praised the hell out of Allen when he did it in that playoff game!

I always thought the NFL had the rule where a QB is down as soon as he starts his slide. Real or Fake, the QB should be ruled down immediately when he begins the motion to slide.

Running out of bounds is a little different, as you can still hit the QB as much as you want while he is inbounds.

Right now, the league is feasting on Patrick Mahomes. He leads the league with 55 knockdowns, coming off a game where the charges knocked him on his ass 13 times. (Stafford also has 55)

Are you saying that Lawrence faked the slide on that hit? He was clearly giving himself up.

No ....I'm saying that many Qbs wait until too late to slide, and many use the sidelines as a plaything. Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and Allen have many times faked like they were going out, and then run some more, and then if You Blast them on the sidelines.....You get a flag. You can't have both.
Also a Defensive player shouldn't have to worry about keeping the opponents teams Qb safe. Period.
If You fake like You are going out, and then run some more, or start to slide, and then go farther....it should be a flag on the offense.

Problem is guys like Jackson and Allen are feasting on these guys when they run. All they have to do is give a little juke move that looks like it's going to be a slide and the defenders don't come at them full speed. Absolutely getting cheap yards and no hits because of it. That BS Allen got away with in the Steelers game, where they were all praising how great he was, when he faked the slide and scored...
