Hard Knocks knew they couldn't get the Steelers in the training camp version of the show this in season show is a way to get around that, they knew a coach like Tomlin would be the star of the show and just like that a backloaded division schedule.

He did a good job of coaching up Herbig before the game and then he comes up with a big play, and Tomlin talking to Pickens after the pick six that was good stuff.

Didn't the Steelers perform poorly in a poll this offseason regarding this kind of stuff? The facilities and such.

The main problems I remember are the training room (in particular some advanced recovery equipment I think they go offsite for - maybe hyperbaric?) and that the families do not have a nice area to wait around in at the stadium.

Alot of these guys come from college programs where the facilities are big part of the recruitment, at least until NIL kicked in.

It was the fact that the Steelers do not provide free Day Care on Gameday that really hurt them. A lot of the NFL teams provide day care for family members on game day.

Simple selling point for distribution.....of all the AFCN teams, who has the most fans worldwide???
Now You have that team playing all the other AFCN teams throughout the show. Even if I wasn't a fan of the Steelers....it's how I would do it.
Let's say I was doing the NFCE.....I would have done Dallas the same way.

I still think there’s some valid reasons To consider moving on from Tomlin.
I do think he knows more about the exes and owes of the game and people give him credit for though. Seems like a really good motivator also.
The proof is in the pudding at the end of the day though. Results are all that matters. I believe we get over the hump this year and win a playoff game or two.
There were quite a few people out there, claiming that we would never win another playoff game as long as Tomlin was the coach. If it happens, there’s definitely gonna be some crow going around.

I hear you,,but I have never in my life seen a team get rid of a HC that didn't have a losing season. The closest I can think of was the Chargers.....why??? because they said they needed to get over a hump that that HC couldn't..... that has been about19 years ago.....not only did they not get over the so called hump.....they actually got worse, and are now .....like 5 HCs later......maybe.....maybe a better team. Maybe.

I thought that as well, but when they put it on paper as an issue, you should probably take notice.

I did get the sense that the other teams meeting rooms felt a little corporate and sterile though.

Did a rewatch and some of the wear and tear on the Steelers chairs was very evident. I get that having chairs for big men is a trough task, but there are some really well built chairs out there for bigger people that hold up way better than what it looks like theirs are doing. For an NFL team (even if you went in with several teams for a discount), you'd think they'd be able to negotiate a decent deal for a batch of them.

While child care is perhaps a top priority for most parents I can't say that free day care on a Sunday afternoon would be something I'd demand. Childcare is a thankless job at the best of times and most providers don't get the money they deserve let alone the support they need. My personal opinion is that if I owned a team I'd look at offering something but realistically I'd look at players and go make a choice. If you choose to have kids then I'm sorry but you might miss a chance to have your wife cheering for you on Sunday. Life is not fair

We know the Steelers are not firing Mike Tomlin anytime soon and they probably shouldn’t. I’m just saying there’s some things that can get you Frustrated as a fan and want to have a change. I wanted to move on from Tom since 2018, like I said my original post I may have been wrong.

I think the greatest negative thing against him is that lack of philosophy/identity which shouldn't be a negative as it can allow you to adapt to any situation. But in this case people look at the complete lack of any staff member getting a HC position all this time. The appearance of failure to develop talent in his system( whatever that system is). The same thing with discipline and the appearance of lacking control. If he was a Bill Walsh west coast offense guy we'd know what his plans are but he is always changing.

I’ll never understand any fan that didn’t want our team on Hard Knocks.

I can’t get enough of them and why I’m on this site and so many others. If I can’t work for the team and be there then I want to be a fly on the wall OR watch them on this show. I just wish it was the preseason version with just them. Yeah yeah rules about how teams got on the show after losing seasons blah blah. I want that rule changed.

I think they did a disservice on how little they covered Watt AND his contributions in the game. Only showed his strip sack and kinda glazed over it. He needs them to highlight his prep, efforts, and contributions to get the DPY again since it seems the voters try to snub his past deserving seasons. Dude has to break nearly unbreakable records to get the damn nod. BS!!!

The Cowboys literally have open tours of their facility and have fans able to watch players lift weights and eat in the cafeteria. It’s a very weird situation IMO. The Steelers are basically the anti-Cowboys in every single way. I like watching the Steelers on Hard Knocks, but I will gladly give it up if it causes even one iota of distraction for the players or team.

It’s funny, I live in Cincinnati and Joe Burrow just bought a Batmobile from one of the Batman movies. He paid $2,900,000 for that car. Everyone around here said he should have bought a defense instead.:roflmao:

I will gladly take the Steelers owner over the Cowboys owner who has to address the media after every game, and Jerry Jones has his own radio show .

Or find out how much Brady was paying the refs for the calls that only he would get.

Say what you will about Tomlin but it’s blindingly clear from watching Hard Knocks, that certain coaches seem to be better at speaking to their players than others, and Tomlin knows his guys and knows how to talk to his guys. Harbaugh seems pretty comfortable as well. And of course they are the most successful in the division.

I remember seeing Jerry Jones fly his helicopter into a Dallas practice and literally land it right in the middle of the field disrupting the whole practice. You could tell Mcarthy was disgusted. I think it was on Hard Knocks or something like that I saw it. I told myself that right there is the reason that team will never be relevant.

Burrow doesn’t need the calls. He is putting up MVP numbers but won’t be in the conversation because of his record.

It all depends on how the question was asked and phrased. I believe it was on a list of questions and they specifically asked the players about the facilities. It wasn’t like the players came up with that answer out of the blue. That makes a big difference. Plus just because they are giving the answer could just mean they are being honest but in the grande of scheme of things I highly doubt it matters to them if the coaching, ownership, management, their salary, the teams success are all receiving high grades.

Just tried to watch it. They want me to pay $16.99 a month. I already paid for the NFL package and only got to see 2 Steelers game that I otherwise would not have. I understand it is different and on HBO max but I should get it since I’m already making YouTube Inc and their board members stupidly rich. All they want to do is nickel and dime people to death. Oh well. Off my soapbox. Let me know if anyone has a work around for this.
