he has a history (college and now nfl) of being grabby. that is why he fell and was the pre-draft knock on him. he is now our problem, so to speak. he is not exceptional at anything, grabbing was always his game. he is tall and lanky, but not super fast, nor quick. he is not a shut down corner. he is good, but not great, that is all I am saying. if he is not grabbing, then he will get toasted.

the problem is, that he thinks he is great.

He is good working on being great. He will be great. The ceiling is high for him. I have less concern about JP and significantly more concern about GP

Really. Please understand the game before making foolish comments. Tomlin is in fact encouraging him to play his game. That was obvious by the way JPJ commented on things after the game. He is a handsy player, I get it but some of these penalties were absolutely ridiculous by the Refs. You can have a hand on the Receiver as long as you don’t interfere with his vision, his range of motion or his arms and hands when trying to catch the ball. The Flag in the end zone was insane. JPJ had his hands around the guys waste. He didn’t impede him from moving forward or from jumping of the ball of which was unmatchable by the way. If JPJ were Sauce Gardner he would have gotten away with 90% of those calls. Its because he has such long arms in alot of cases they look alot more egregious than they actually are.

The play of Emerson against Pickens last week before the half where he literally hip checked Pickens out of bounds on a deep sideline route and he wasn’t even turned around looking at the ball was way more egregious than all of JPJ’s plays on Sunday. These PI calls are so subjective just like alot of the roughing the passer and holding calls by the refs. Why is it certain teams and certain players get away with playing aggressively and others don’t? I will never understand it. The Patriots DB’s used to mug wr’s in the Brady era. It seems like the Chiefs and Jets get away with that kind of play now. Why not us?

Joey Jr reminds me a lot of McFadden:

Strong and physical, when he is playing at his best he can hang with anyone.

Disagree. He was isolated on Higgins most of the day and Higgins had his 3rd worst total of the season.

Like Tomlin said, Higgins is a 'goon'. He's the kind of player that, if you give him an inch, he'll take a yard... and then some.

Exactly. Tomlin wanted Porter to be physical with Higgins. That was in fact the game plan.

    Big difference

You can’t ignore the dumb penalties

That is what separates him from great

I’m not even sure the entire package reaches good

Do you think that cause all his penalties? I think he had a lot the game before.
