Hard Knocks overcompensation?

I'm wondering if they changed the way they prepped right before the Browns game as a result of having the Hard Knocks camera crews in building?

It's no secret they haven't wanted the inhouse distraction and they may be trying too hard to hold things close to their vests.

 

December 3rd. I disagree with it but I'm looking forward to watching it. I do believe it's a distraction to the teams. They had a NYG on earlier this year and look how they are doing. Fun to watch when it's other teams but I never wanted the Steelers on it.

 

I tend to watch it.

I can't believe it would be a distraction. Just be professionals and do your damn job.

Hope the team does win because it is hard to watch anything after losses and I hate seeing the Steelers in heavy rotation after a loss.

 

It is just more film for the opponents as well.

 

I kind of look at it like this. All of those reality TV shows are fake. The people on the shows have to sign waivers stating that they can be portrayed in however they want. They can make a nice guy be an ******* and vice versa. They do whatever they think they need to do to get people watching the show. I've actually talked to people on the shows before and found out quite a few interesting things about them. They will tell a person to go pick an argument with somebody over nothing, they'll tell two people to redo something interesting because they didn't get it on camera, they will break things to cause drama.

Where I'm going with this is it I don't really believe crap that gets said on this show. I find it very hard to believe that in a sport where secrecy about your game plan is actually pretty important, teams are just having an honest pow wow while the cameras are rolling knowing that their opponents are going to see this.

 

Oh I know. We had a crew onboard my last deployment on the way home and they were following one of my guys. They were allowed to film in some locations that normally you wouldn't allow. I came in one day and my guy was making paper roses for his wife, so I ask him about it and say that's pretty cool. Those guys thought it was a great interaction and decided I needed to be mic'd up and filmed saying it over and over as they directed me to keep saying it louder and more pitched. So glad that didn't make it in, because I looked like a fool damn near squealing it at full blast!

That goes to what I'm saying though, I know the film crew is supposed to be mostly invisible, but there are times it just gets in the way and I'm sure they're not as candid with the crew around.

EDIT: It didn't make it in as my guys segment was taken totally out because he decided he didn't want to be in it anymore after filming and when the producer emailed him for some family pictures, he decided he was going to send him a picture of his junk!

 

I never looked at it that way but it makes sense.

 

This is obviously a huge distraction for the team, the coaches and organization. Not only is it a distraction, they forced them to pack the second half of the season with division games. This is a huge hit to our season chances. The other teams don’t have to go through this.

 

Yup the entire second half and the entire run of the show is how Pittsburgh preps for divisional games.

All of them.

Absolutely not a fair play situation. This is giving the entire division a look inside the Steelers divisional prep for first and second games home and away. Don't know how much they'll take from it, but we know it doesn't take much and at the very least it's plenty of bulletin board material.

 

They have been trying to get Hard Knocks into the Steelers camp for years, they haven’t been able to force it because they don’t do teams with winning records. This entire situation is bull

 

Well... I'd agree with this... minus one caveat.


Just about every NFL Team has A.I. that allows them to easily research each teams most called plays along with that teams most proficient ones via a Microsoft Surface Tablet. I personally doubt the Steelers will reveal much of anything to NFL Films; much less NFL Films getting much anyways. Moreover to the point though, I do agree this is nothing more than a distraction for the team nevertheless.

The Steelers have been lucky up to this point of not having
to deal with this distraction and the European football experiment to some extent.
I personally don't like it from my perspective, but I don't own a team in the NFL.

 

wont it be awesome when NFL expands to Europe---All that traveling back and forth. Talk about exhaustion.Not looking forward to it... but it's going to happen.

Jacksonville Jags are basically a 50% European team already. It’s probably coming

 

NFL Europe was a complete bust. I think European cities will take the NFL one game a year, when they can have Americans fly in to watch the game on vacation, but making it a regular weekly happening is something altogether different.

There is no ground work. No High Schools are playing football, there are no Colleges over there sporting a football team; there is no interest in playing football at all over there, unless you are talking about the round-ball kind.

 

Just another greed act by NFL, taking away American wages from home team city that was supposed to be hosting.

 

I bet this will be on Hard-Knocks.
