If the Steelers beat the Bengals and the Eagles beat the Ravens this weekend, then the lead for first place in the division is back to 1.5 games.

    :herewego!:

I almost thought with the thread title that the Steelers have figured out ("on to") the Bungles and a W is in the bag. Wishful thinking? :lolol:

Normally I stay home to watch the game or actually go to it but this year I am changing up a bit and going over to the Neighbors and watching with Bengals fans. I think it may reduce my stress level. After the Browns loss I need a little less stress anyways. Win or lose it should be a good time. My Bengals friends already gave up on their team.

I refuse to watch a Steelers game with my brother. He swears he is a huge Steelers fan but he is the most pessimistic fan I’ve ever seen. All he does is complain how bad they suck all game long and then when they win he says. Damn that was a good win but everyone on the team sucks.

I checked the QB ratings, and Burrow is ranked second in the league, essentially the same as Lamar Jackson, who is ranked first. Burrow throws a bit better and Lamar runs a bit better but their ratings are within a whisker. Any time you face a QB like that, your defense can be burnt.
Having said that, it would be rare for the Steelers to have two Tomlin games in a row, especially after a long week where they heal up. And they didn’t let Lamar go all Lamar on them two weeks ago.

I think the Steelers take Cincy.

Burrow is a beast, lest any of us have forgotten. If Higgins and Chase are healthy and if he has 3 seconds in that pocket, most of KNOW what he is capable of. a healthy Highsmith would do a lot to keep pressure on that pocket.

I am not sure our sluggish offense will keep up.

i was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt! some here think that MORE TIME would help it, and that our unfair schedule is the problem. it really is preposterous. LACK of (coaching) creativity, and TALENT (somewhat, altho I could get more out of this bunch than Smith and Tomlin do) and a WEAK OL is the problem, not some quirky schedule. :hehehe::hehehe:

They're averaging 22 points a game which is like 15th in the league, last season they averaged about 17 PPG.

Smith is clearly better than Canada but I still feel the overall approach and mentality of this offense is way too conservative. This isn’t an OC thing we all know who’s calling the shots. I’m not talking about dumb fake punts or terrible 4th down calls either. I’m talking about the regular gameplan on 1-3rd downs.

Would you rather they throw the ball 50 times a game behind a shaky OL ?

I don't see this game ending well for the Steelers. They struggle badly against QBs who get the ball out fast. And they aren't generating enough pressure to keep Burrow on his toes.

Cinci's D sucks, so even the Steelers should be able to score a few TDs, but I don't think they'll be able to keep up with Cincy's passing offense.

They have to get Burrow to hold the ball longer and create a couple of turnovers.

Steelers beat them both games last year (I know...Burrow wasn't the QB) with a lesser team. As others have said, don't give Joe B. all day to get the ball out and make him think twice to create a turnover or two. We beat Lamar, we can beat Burrow.

Burrow, and Lamar are two way different Qbs. What works on one would kill us with the other.

I'm sure they play Burrow and Lamar differently, Burrow is more accurate and with Lamar they have to worry about him running the ball.

This week would be a good time to get more creative and bring more pressure.
