they over-loaded with spend on Defense.

Defense does NOT win Championships in the 2024 Era. you can't take people out like James Harrison USED to do..... you can't hit. all the rules FAVOR the offense. and high scoring.

we may have loaded up the WRONG side of the football with our spending........

Agree to a degree. The spending may shift over the next few years. At the end of the day though, the Steelers don't have the QB to be in the true SB contenders tier.

 

Oddly enough, their biggest offseason mistake might have been going offense over defense in the first round of the draft. Fautanu may eventually be a key part of the team, but passing on the best corner in the draft was a mistake. Then again, taking Thomas there would have been better, too.

 

Uhhmmm..... the Chiefs won last year by Defense, and if they win this year....it will be the same....unless something changes for them.

 

agree that our offensiveline is the weakest part of our offensive struggles. can't get a push from our offensive line on 4th and 1 against the Browns. Look at the Ravens last night, they went on 4th and 1 at least 3 times and succeeded each time. I think the talent is there but just doesn't have the right coaching in getting the job done. if we had mike munchak, things would have been very different.

 

The Killer B’s only had a few games where they were all on the field together.

 

NO MORE defense drafted for while. We are devoid on offense. TF was to be a STARTER Day 1 here, like Frazier. We knew it would be a young OL. the idea was the D would DOMINATE. they are not. they are GOOD, but they do not DOMINATE.

it's OK - FUN be 7-3, but I see us getting bounced quickly again in JAN unless these clowns on offense can start running a NFL style offense. Tomlin and ASmith are 1/2 the problem, the oline is 25% the problem and lack of WR is the other 25%

Should be three but sadly, that dislocated kneecap got Troy bad. That said, I trust today's Sports Therapy and Medicine. For that matter, people wrote off David DeCastro after suffering not just a Dislocated Kneecap but also an MCL Tear... in 2012. He had one hell of a career.

Of course there is more money spent on the Defense....it's all older guys, and the offense is mostly guys on rookie contracts.....should we just pay the younger guys more money just because??? Also we are paying about 5 million dollars for all 3 of our Qbs added together.
This is also why it's extremely of bad judgment to say not to Draft the Defense.....that's how You get cheaper on Defense. Please I know You aren't dumb.....so Just think about it , and use the brain you have.

I tend to agree with you that defense wins Championships is a thing of the past but it still happens. The last absolute time was Ravens SB back in SB 35. KC defense won that SB for them last season and it is keeping KC in the games until damn Mahomes wins it.

Speaking of Mahomes, Christmas day we are up by 7 with under 2 minutes and Chiefs got ball. Everyone of us will know Mahomes will tie it up. Thus, we need to be up by 14

 

The problem with your statement? The guys that looked the worst in the last game were the two seasoned veterans (Moore & Seamalu). I've been unimpressed with Myers' work thus far.
