The Steelers right now have a chance to clinch a playoff spot if they win these next 2 games depending on what happens with teams like Miami Indy and Cincy the next 2-3 weeks. Two more wins gets them to 10. So if you beat Cincy on Sunday they are at 8 losses and they can’t catch you so they would be done. Then it comes down to the Dolphins and Colts. The Colts have 7 losses right now so the Steelers need them to lose one more game to get to 8 losses so they can guarantee they don’t win the tiebreaker over the Steelers since they beat them if they both finish at 10-7. The Dolphins are at 6 losses and they play in Green Bay on Thanksgiving which I expect them to lose. So that would put them at 7 losses. So you would only need Miami to lose one more game the rest of the way to clinch a spot.

So the bottom line here is I know we are all still concerned with winning the division and a top 2 seed which we should be. But wins over the Bengals and Browns the next 2 weeks and getting to 10 wins would all but guarantee a playoff spot will be clinched by no later then mid-December. I just don’t see teams like the Colts and Dolphins winning more than 9 games.

We really need the Chargers to help us out and beat the Ravens on MNF.

I don’t think Baltimore will win both tonight in LA and at home Sunday against the Eagles. I think they will drop at least one of those games. So if the Steelers can win against the Bengals and Browns the next 2 weeks and get to 10-3 and the Ravens are 8-5 going into their bye week on December 8th the Steelers will still be in pretty good shape to win the division. This Bengals game is critical on Sunday for the Steelers chances to win the division. They need to get it. Why pissing that game away against the Browns on Thursday night last week was something you just could not afford to do. Had you won in Cleveland you would have the luxury of probably losing in Cincy on Sunday and still being in pretty good shape to win the division. The loss to the Browns changed all of that.

And if We just ran away with the AFCN.....what would HBO/Max have to talk about , and have on their new show. They want as much drama as they can get. I don't believe in fixing games, but nobody can tell me they didn't fix our schedule , just for this very reason.

No guy, I've watched the show from the beginning and this is not about just one team's drama. It's the AFCN so there can be a dominate team involved.

That sure sounded sweet what OP said. I know the stars really have to align but how frigging great would it be to just worry about the seeding the last 4 games??

How sweet it'd be if we are 2 up with 6 to go. Go Chargers.

Then the NFL guy doing interviews after the schedule came out, he had the nerve to say the Steelers tough schedule was just a coincidence they're full of crap.

Would you guys rather have our division games early in the schedule so we already know how that lays out before the last quarter of the season?
OR do you prefer it like this season with the division games on the back end and so much still unknown and up in the air?

Look, I really want to win division but I honestly think 1 more win gets us in playoffs. Since only the #1 seed gets a bye I really don't think it's all that important where you're seeded after that. It comes down more to who is healthiest and playing well at the time.
Please let us get that win Sunday so I can get over that nagging feeling that we might have epic collapse.

    Oh, and go Chargers tonight!

The reason I disagree with you is because a home playoff game is really important -- not to mention awesome. So as you say - GO CHARGERS. huge game tonight for the Steelers. Channel your inner Dan Fouts and Kellen Winslow Sr.

Yes because the Steelers limping in as a 7 seed and going on the road against a dominate team has worked out well recently.

The Steelers odds of winning a playoff game are a little different if they are a 2 seed at home playing the Broncos as opposed to a 7 seed going to Buffalo or KC

We will get at least 2 more wins. I agree on the seeding, but I would like the 1st playoff game to be in Pittsburgh at least.

Like it with the last game divisional if not the last 2.
definitely help when they made that switch years ago.

it would be ideal 2 division games like week 4,5 10,11 and 17 18
the division also should have the same week for the bye

stir that sh!t up the 1st few weeks with out of conference and out of division
give the teams time to tune in and tune on and fire up before a divisional game
the division plays each other the same two weeks, two weeks two weeks

With Miami losing in Green Bay last night the Steelers could clinch a playoff spot the next 2 weeks on Sunday December 8th to be exact if the following things all happen in the next 2 weeks if they win in Cincy on Sunday and beat the Browns at home next week, and the Colts lose in New England Sunday and the Dolphins lose at home to the Jets next Sunday. A lot of those things happening aren’t great odds but the Steelers are getting very close to clinching a playoff spot here and if they take care of business against the Bengals and Browns they should clinch a spot in the next 2 weeks for sure.

    Obviously, 1 seed is best

If not, then playing the Broncos or Chargers at home is next best scenario.

If they must go on the road, playing in Houston is best option.

Going to Buffalo, KC, or playing Baltimore gives the worst chance to get a playoff win.

I think the Ravens beating the Chargers helped out in the above scenarios.

win 3 of 4 remaining divisional games and 1 of 2 against Philly/KC will put Steelers in great position.

As long as the Steelers don't play a team with a losing record in the playoffs we're good. This scenario fortunately won't happen with their loss to the Browns. Man, that Tomlin is a genius, making sure the Steelers don't play a team with a losing record in the playoffs.

I believe Russel Wilson has a win in the playoffs with a losing record.

Houston could end up 8-9 and win their division

According to what I saw today: If the Bung Holes beat the Steelers, they have a 20% chance of making the playoffs and the Steelers’ chances are 91%. If the Steelers win, the Bung Holes’s playoff chances go down to 7% and the Steelers’ chances rise to 97%.
If you are fighting for a #2 seed, you should be thankful you are going against a 4-7 team, even one with a very good QB.

I'm really not worried about any teams now. I think that the Steelers can put together a game that will allow them to beat any team in the NFL right now. However the Steelers are also capable of putting together a game that will allow them to lose to any team in the NFL right now.....lol

If we can hold our own in those 3 games against the Rats, Birds and Swifts I'll have confidence going into Playoffs.

not much into trying to predict what will happen weeks from now. so many things can happen with injuries to other teams and us which would change many things.

    This.
By the last week of the schedule, a lot of teams could look way different.
I remember the last time I actually thought we had a chance at the SB, and we lost AB, Bell, and D. Williams. It destroyed the rest of the playoffs.

As of week 13, Chiefs have clinched a spot.
Las Vegas, the Giants, and the Patriots are eliminated.
