Do we have to have a player of the week? Everybody stunk last night. Give the game ball to one of the Steelers fans in the dog pound.

Russ played decent, in spite of it all. WR's made some nice catches in that 4th Q and the elements. he threw some nice DARTS on slants. Had not seen much of that before. GREAT recover on the Najee fumble. Then he had his but he was hit by Garrett.

OL is a mess, we knew that in August, which is what soured my optimism on the season in general. When your #1 draft pick goes out and your RT has a setback (he STILL may have an injured arm), then you will struggle.

This team was supposed to run the ball better. We have not.

Warren is just getting back to full strength.

We have 6 games to right the ship.

Despite what I heard from others, I thought Russ was very good last night. Not only did he make some great throws, but he did just before getting laid out on a few occasions.

Trying a 58 yd FG, getting stuffed twice on 4th down, and having Fields try to throw for a first down in his only throw late in the 4th was our demise.

May He win many more. I thought He looked pretty good throwing in the elements. Stop wasting practice time, and preparation time on 2 Qbs, and 2 schemes. Pick one, and work on that.

Russ actually had a solid game besides the lost fumble and holding the ball too long for some sacks.

And Russ seems to bail and throw the ball away a lot, but it is likely our receivers aren’t getting open.

All things considered he threw it fine. The fumble was bad, but he recovered Najee's fumble so maybe that helps offset it?

We NEED to run it better. I honestly think that the holes have been there for most of the season, Najee just isn't getting the job done. We generally get the "Naj Mirage" at the end of the season. This year we got it before the bye. I still would love to see Najee's carries reduced to closer of a 50/50 split between his carries and Warren + Patterson's. I also think it allows us to line up in shotgun more and run plays that have more of a threat of being a pass. There is just more pressure on the defense and their scheme with Warren out there than with Najee. We simply HAVE to impose our will on the opposition for Najee to be effective. If we don't, we get another 2.nothing YPC performance.

I thought Austin had one of his best games, 3 receptions 78 yards and a TD. He would have had a 70 yard TD but had to wait on a ball that he beat his guy by 5 yards on.

Evidently, you are his messenger for this board. Can you find out for us? I understand if you don't have time with your hall monitoring duties. It's been a busy 24 hrs. mopping up the tears. Be sure you put out the [IMG] signs.

Nah, we need to pump the breaks on that.... he's had 3 great games. They were excellent games (and I don't expect him to be that good every week), but he's been really bad otherwise. He averaged nearly 6 yards per carry in 3 of 11 games (27% of the games) but has been averaging 3.1 yards per carry in the other 8. He scored 2 TD's in his 3 game stretch, but only 1 in the other 8. His season average is back below 4 per carry, and quite frankly he just looks bad out there. He's beginning to look a lot more like a detriment than an asset.

I get that "cherry picking" the worst games is always going to give a worse looking result, but were talking about the average of 3/4's of his games played. Its not some small sample size. Najee is an NFL back. He is good enough to get carries, but he isn't good enough to be touching the ball 19.5 times a game. He's a below average starter getting top 5 back touches. Its wild. Some team is going to pay him double what he is worth in the offseason and I hope it isn't us.

I can agree with this. I honestly think that we win this game still if we made some different coaching decisions on 4th down and better timeout usage.

The 58 yard attempt was dumb in the wind, and cold. Should have punted.

Agreed, but He's been pretty dang good all year. Especially since He wasn't even our starter.
