I cannot say enough about Mike Tomlin tonight.

Keep making me eat crow. Tough game and you had them prepared. That TO before the 2 point conversion was genius.

 

I've been pretty tired of Tomlin for several years now, but I'll give credit where credit is due. There are still red zone issues, and they still struggle to score early for the most part, but things are looking much better.

 

And if they lose to the Browns on Thursday, it will be back to fire Tomlin.

There is still an issue on converting short yardage 3rd and 4th down. Najee must have one of the worst conversion rates of regular backs.

 

Couldn’t believe they ran a QB sneak with Wilson on 3rd and 1 instead of putting Heyward in at FB and pounding Warren up the gut behind him. Then they run that play on 4th and one. Both plays were so obvious and defense didn’t get fooled a bit. Here’s another thought. Run a bootleg with Fields.

 

I thought Popcorn managed the Duck/Rudolph year of 2019 very well without Roethlisberger. This year is comparable, but with much better talent at QB. I'm still irked at the "worse than 80's playoff win drought" we as Steelers fans have suffered through. Noll and Cowher never went this long without a playoff win.

Short week and divisional road game combination is a tough ask after a divisional slobber knocker that lasted the full 60.
