I was talking about the actual play we brought him in. I'd doubt many people thought he was going to do anything besides run it, or hand it off, and I was surprised the Ravens fell for it....,,but I was just as surprised when the Commanders jumped off sides on a hard snap count....so....

I know what you meant. I'm just saying that wouldn't be the case with Feilds in a red zone package.

It is an eye discipline check. Roquan Smith was out with injury, so they are testing the DE and LB to play perfectly disciplined ball and for someone to make a 1 on 1 play on Fields. The second they lose contain, Fields gets outside for a good gain, and the second the hesitate and "freeze" to stop Fields, the running lane for the RB opens up for a good gain. That isn't even to mention the fact that Fields was an NFL league average throwing QB to start the year during the first 6 games... Lots of ways to lose to a read-option RPO as a defense. Even when you know it's coming, it still pressures the ever living hell out of the defense. It is a good thing to run from time to time.

It also is called....like against the Ravens in the same game ....a good way for Your offensive line to be called for being too far down the field. That's exactly why I knew it was only a running option..because we wouldn't chance that happening at that point of the game.....I knew it was a hand off , or a Qb run, and the Ravens should have know this. Hell half their knowledgeable fans said this on their board during the game.

yes, true. But that happens on what, like 1 out of 10 or 1 out of 20 RPO plays? You're in a situation where one first down wins the game. If you trust your players to execute it, then do it. Even if it is just a run, and a run all the way called in the huddle, it still forces the DE and the LB to play it perfectly. If Fields wins a 1v1 its game. It really isn't a risky play to call, simple to execute and Justin is great at it.

Sure. Why not. Just dont be mad when he turns the ball over in the redzone if they ask him to pass. He’s been known to have that issue.

Well if it's....like I thought it was....a RRO(LoL) instead of a RPO......you don't have to worry about the man down field. That's why I was sure it was. No need to chance a flag at that time of the game.....especially since we seen the Ravens called for that exact thing more than once in that game.

The same guy who said.....stay with Trubisky, then stay with Pickett, then stay with Fields. I would say ... let's not listen to Ben when He talks about Steelers Qbs. Because he's not batting a good average here.
They should have said ....remember when we were having problems in the redzone with You....why didn't they bring in J. Dobbs to run the redzone offense. LoL

When Fields was the starter he only threw one interception and it wasn't in the red zone, he did run for 5 TDs in the red zone though.

Look let’s be honest. Red zone has been issues for years. The 70-80 are gone when get in from the red zone was no problem. That is when we hand coaches that knew what the hell they were doing. So now we have coaches that can’t due there job and the Oline that is coached by the same coaches. We have a big issue.

I’m not even limiting this based on the subject

    He was a good quarterback

He was never a source of useful information

When Fields was the starter in 6 game we had one ....that's correct....one Wrs td.....so I guess we can just count the Wrs out in the red zone. We had just one rushing td by the rbs. So I guess we should just take that off the board, and Fields had fumbled the ball in every game but one. So we must add that in, and He hates playing under center.....so we have to take out play action. So with all of that said. What will we really be gaining in using him in the redzone against any capable DC???....a throw to a TE, or a run by the Qb.....plus undeserved pressure on Russell every time He gets I'm the redzone, and undeserved pressure on Fields every time He is put into a package.... to score td....even when they are not there to be had.

I would take my chances still and let Fields run some plays in the red zone, nobody is saying put Fields in every time they're in the red zone .

Put Justin in as a wr or rb in the redzone. But, I don't like putting my backup qb, late in the season, in harms way.

Fields is going into the game for his running ability not to be a decoy, look how easy it was for him to run when trying to pick up that first down in the 4th quarter.

Remember what I said . That's all I ask. When they start forcing more in the redzone, and everyone starts saying why....what going on.
People keep saying they are pros..., and they won't feel that pressure.....what they don't say is they are Qbs.....Qbs are not used to the constant pressure of coming in , and out of a game. Why the Hell do You think everyone made such a big deal of Anthony Richardson taping out?????
They aren't Wrs,DBs, LBs, and all other types of players that are used to that throughout their careers. It's a bad Idea.

That was once. Keep doing it on a regular basis and alert these defensive coaches and he's gonna get hurt.
