Harrison is only the beginning. We are having a fire sale this week and like it or not where in transition. Hopefully a 6-10 season will cost tomlin his job and we can bring back the Chin to right the ship

Seems a shame to me the Steelers let themselvs get into this cap mess. It isn't every day a franchise QB who only come along once in a blue moon and the most important person on the team gets hung out to dry. I mean he has very little support right now to get the offense going, and yeah the defense is losing great players by the droves..............I see where the Dolphins all but have Wallace locked up, and ready to sign on the dotted line.

Do you know Cowher wants to come back? Do you know that the Steelers want him back? What did Cowher do that makes you think he can "right the ship"? Tomlin hasn't had a losing season yet and you want to kick him to the curb.

Sorry we won't be in transition with Ben under center.

So is 10-6 and every other possible record out there for a 16 game season. Yea we are in a sort of transition, but our offense I think gets better this season. We have a few question marks there but Ben seems to finally have taken a step into the vocal leadership role. I think Haley and Ben will work well together and get this offense on track. We have a young o-line which will become more dominant as they become more experienced. And the loss of Wallace is not that big of a deal as a lot of people are making it out to be. Yes his speed and ability to get open is amazing, but he catches barely 50 percent of the passes thrown to him. If we fill this void with a big receiver who has good hands and can get open in the draft or in FA (which I know FA is doubtful), we should be in decent shape. Heath Miller is hurt but I think we get by with Paulson for a few games, and we might bring in another TE in the draft as well.

And don't underestimate this defense either. Harrison is gone, and some fans act like the world is ending. But I have faith in Worilds. I've learned never doubt someone who is given an opportunity to show the world what he can do. Unless we draft a day 1 starter at OLB at #17, I believe Worilds is gonna be the starter, and I think he is ready. He has shown flashes, but he has always lived in the shadow of Harrison or Woodley. And I think this boost of confidence he will get from Tomlin and LeBeau is what he needs and he will step up. Our safeties are old but Troy has not been healthy in a long time, and I think if he stays healthy for 16 games we will have a great defense again.

I could go on for days about our needs and I know I missed contemplating on our more than likely release of Hampton and others. But I've learned that more often than not, our front office knows what they are doing, and usually makes the right decisions. Injuries are a big part of the game as we all witnessed last season, and I think if we stay healthy, we will surprise everyone. But hey I could be looking back on this post in January next year shaking my head that I was completely wrong, or happy as we enter the playoffs.

Well....Ben can only do so much. Every team has to have a time of transition and this is ours. It had to happen some time. This season will be interesting for sure.

i see it a little different fansince40. we have given ben two good young receivers a new young talented line and we should see a new RB brought in to help out. heath going down was a fluke, but we have actually built the O for ben to succeed with. franchise qb's cost alot, so you have to start under what teams without one will as far as money. our defense is not down and out yet, we still have some good players on this side of the ball. 4 first rounders and 2 second rounders as of right now on defense with more to come i'm sure this year.

We have an off year and don't make it to the playoffs, and the lines for bridge jumping interfere with traffic...

cowher won't come back with bigben here no way in hell
so that means after this year we draft Bryn Renner and ben is traded to arizona and cowher returns because we went 6-10
tomlin is then our db coach

If the Steelers can stay relatively healthy in 2013 (especially on the o-line), they'll compete for the division. I'd be interested to know if/how approaches to off-season conditioning will be changing this year.

Real Steel is just trolling. Every notice he starts these off the wall threads and rarely sticks around to discuss them?
    That's trolling 101 right there!

Regarding off-season conditioning, I really hope Woodley loses weight, a lot of it. He looks like Casey Hampton out covering RBs. If I were the Steelers I would insert a Weight Clause in every contract, even Ben, he seems to not take care of his body really well.

They are going to need to give Ben some weapons...my biggest concern is if Heath isn't ready. It is going make us really one dimensional.

We need to find another Receiver and RB. Defense should be okay.

They are as about equal as you can get. Cowhers first 6 seasons he was 64-32 and Tomlin is 63-33. Each has 1 SB Victory and 1 SB loss on their resume. I love Cowher but I think it's funny when people act like he never had a losing season, something Tomlin hasn't had by the way. When it's all said and done, he may have more victories and SB's then Cowher.
