If Myles had far more tackles, sacks, qb hits, forced fumbles, fumble recoveries, blocked passes, and interceptions, and then lost the DPOY on some made up stat that actually doesn't mean anything, he might have a different take on it.

As much as it pisses me off I have fun with it. I'll show people the stats side by side and ask them who they think won DPOY. Most casual fans don't know so I ask them who they'd choose. They always pick TJ. Then when I tell them who it is they say it must be cause the team he is on went to Playoffs. That ain't it, we went too.

When I read Peter King's explanation on those two made up stats I just about did a spit take. I mean seriously one about percentage of times you get home vs a dbl team and what's the other one percentage of times you impacted the pocket? Absolutely nothing to do with tackling, sacking, defending passes, turnovers. It's a joke.

TJ doesn't feel anyway about you because he's myles better than you garrett. You're not the first person that got dpoy with lesser stats than TJ! Our disgust and anger are towards the voters ... that constantly snub TJ and try to justify it with made up projections.

TJ may end up with less stats this year and win DPOY so there’s that

Seems to me its on Garretts mind alot more than it is Watts. I think Watt busted his A** last year and felt he got robbed, so he was rightfully upset. I did an analysis of the Watt vs Garrett debate last year and even when you factor in the metrics of double teams and pass rush win rate et. that PFF likes to use ... Watt still had a net of 20 plus more positive plays than Garrett did. The biggest flaw however is the way PFF graded what a double team block was. They even highsmith getting a higher rate of double team blocks than Watt was. The thing is they weren’t constituting chips as double teams. It makes a huge difference in terms of evaluating Watt because because he is using from the QB’s visual side. So one of the way teams scheme against Watt is instead of just having a sustained double team against Watt they will chip him and release into the flat and throw the ball over Watts head to defeat the pressure. You can’t do that when the edge player is using from the QB’s blindside. As a result they ask the second blocker to maintain there block a little longer before releasing or not releasing at all. So therefore all of those chips on Watt were never counted as a double team against him. In addition as a result of the chips and the player releasing into the flat, at times Watt would peel off his rush and go cover the release. The way PFF grades that is as a failed pass rush. So that effected his pass rush win rate. These are exactly the type of things that upsets NFL players because they say PFF is making these grades without any knowledge of scheme or what a players responsibilities are on a given play. Another example is against the Ravens. The Edge players were tasked with maintaining the edge and keeping Lamar in the pocket. There were times when they had a clear shot at rushing him but they maintained a strict rush lane and made sure they stayed outside to keep him bottled up. If one edge gets int there too soon and the other edge is not maintain his rush lane integrity it can force Lamar to run to daylight if you don’t have that covered. PFF would look at some of there rushes as failed pass rushes. Then you add in the fact that most of the sports writers are surface level intelligent about the game and they actually rely on fictional analytics like PFF to base their decisions off of and those are the guys doing the actual voting and you can understand why Watt was pissed off.

Garrett is a good player ( he can dominant a game occasionally) but he lacks the consistency and tenacity of Watt. He is the perfect player for the misinformed casual NFL fans of today which there are many (thanks Goodell and Swift); in which to route for. A football purist will choose Watt over him every time.

They knew they did him bad last year plus the woke culture is over. They don’t have to give it out like a participation trophy but to who is actually deserving of it this year.

Exactly. TJ still wins, he is on the Steelers, Myles is stuck on the Browns.
