What do you mean they shouldn’t have been in the playoffs?

Well I understand your point and suppose the "gift" part of the equation is not that the Steelers forced the fumbles/INT but that they recovered each without challenge. How many have we seen that Steelers did not get the recovery/INT either on the field or upon review? Perhaps then the best part of "gifts" is the surprise element and happy outcome. It's the re-gifting that we have to minimize. ;)

Give credit to Austin for scheming more blitzes, not even blitzes, a lot more 5 man packages that's isolating our OLB one on one more, especially TJ. Rushes the decision making process of QB and lessens the QB looking off Queen and Fitzpatrick for those 20 yard seam routes.

But they are Cowhers players. :roflmao:

Nobody goes to a team with no players obviously but rarely do you get a HOF QB HOF SS leadership like Hines Ward and James Farrior players like Casey Hampton Aaron Smith Ike Taylor Alan Faneca….. he walked into a gold mine and had all his success during that time besides the non losing season thing.

This team should be heading to the playoffs as a potential high seed division winner. Will your boy win a game??

It’s hard to win in the NFL and we just beat two quality teams. MT is having a great start to this season.

You do realize that some of those players that You just named (maybe You don't and that's why You keep saying it) weren't on the other SBs with Tomlin right??

I’m not thinking the intention of this offense is to get field goals and not touchdowns

Let's not forget Woodley who was huge in not only a SB win, but getting there....James Harrison who was a backup for Bill C, Ryan Clark....just a few who were huge in not only our SB win against the Cardinals, but getting to that SB, and the next one.

lack of points and performance in offense doesn’t mean it was a conservative game plan. It means they didn’t execute well. I think it is fair to question some of the play calls but I don’t think bad play calls indicate they were conservative.

they tried to push the ball down and over the middle. Russ was either hesitant or the line gave up pressure which often resulted in net negative yardage on the play and us behind the sticks.

my fear going forward is the development if the medium to intermediate passing game. That does not seem to be a strong suit if Russ’s nor do we have that fast bulky rb type wr to go over the middle and thrive.

    very valid.

the Ravens showed a bit of a blue print. Press and cover 2. We sucked against it.

I hope AS and Russ are working DOUBLE TIME to figure out - with our TE's , WR's and with Warren - Warren can be the key here. Become Ray Rice like

Yes they did which is concerning. I think you are right with Warren. Washington can be a better asset over the middle because Russ can see him. Friermuth would be if he were taller. He definitely is not the 6’5” like they list him. I would say 6’3” at most.

Weren't they all 7 seeds...I get that the rules changed so is what it is, but those teams were not playoff caliber teams and it showed.

They were in fact a playoff caliber team. Which is why they were in the playoffs. Unfortunately our opponents were better.

Some football god took Marty Shottenheimer and Barry Switzer, did some mutant **** to combine them, and out popped Mike Tomlin.
