Ya...cracked me up! But I had the same reaction to most of his red zone play calling.

Washington stood there like a statue. Didn't move. A planned play. He is a Wilt Chamberlin out there. Fail. I don't blame Wilson for that.

Washington can't seem to take advantage of his size. Doesn't make sense to me but he plays smaller than he is. Granted he's never had a capable QB. Maybe with more work with Wilson they can get on the same page but so far I think Washington has below avg ball skills and decent hands. He needs to learn how to use his body and size and adjust to the ball. He always seems late to look for the pass which would obviously cause problems making adjustments or using your size if you don't have time.

Come on guys Darnell Washington is still learning how to be a pass catching TE. He played 3 years at Georgia and only caught 45 passes. The Steelers brought him in to be a blocking TE, just like he was in Georgia, and I think his pass catching skills and route running have improved these past 2 years.

Darnell Washington's mistake in the endzone was a result of him not knowing what to do after he completed his route. The Kid just doesn't have the experience yet to go off script and do his own thing to help the QB out.

    Agree 100%.
Those DB's hate to see him with the ball though.

I'll add that Wilsons QB play was far from stellar. I think mostly because he has lost a step and that elusiveness to extend plays is no longer there.

I don't disagree that he may be less elusive, but given the pressure that he was under and the elusiveness he did show, I was disappointed he either couldn't find an open WR or the WR didn't get open. Felt like there were times that he bought what I thought should have been enough time for a WR to break free.

There is something to be said for that. I was looking for Mike Williams to be in there. Austin is not a guy that is going to win contested catches.... he's you speed guy.
Van Jefferson just is there... decent blocker.

Why? Did you think he dropped it going to the ground? He clearly caught it with 2 feet in.

Or are you talking about our interception of Lamar?

Do you all remember that Pickens let the cat out of the bag ... by saying that he was getting extra reps after practice with Russ. It worked so well that they stopped doing it. And this is exactly what Russ, Williams and every one of our wr corp should be doing. And, reap the rewards in the redzone.

Smith has the same problem Canada and Finctner had. Inconsistent O line play. Frazier and McCormick give me hope, but Steelers still have an average to below average O line.
