From walterfootball... He sounds kinda familiar.

    6'0 202 LBS

    Strengths:Gritty receiver
Fights for ball; out-competes defensive backs
    Physical with defensive backs
    Great at making contested catches
    Excellent hands
    Quality route-runner
    Intelligent
    Good yards after the catch
    Very productive
    Durable
    Unselfish
    Ready to compete
    Could be a good blocker

    Weaknesses:A little short
    Lacks speed
    Won't stretch the field vertically
Could be best as a third receiver
Will he be limited to the slot receiver?

Hines all the way. Maybe Hines has an alternate person like Deion. LOL.

"could be a good blocker" is the deal breaker for being like hines. 86 was a great blocker. as i said when we cut him, our run game will suffer. how did we do without him here last year? he was like an extra TE in the run game. that's just his blocking skills. he's got a long way to go to be considered to be Hines like. just sayin.

But now I'm sure Hines didnt come into the league being the expert blocker he ended up being...he built up to that. So COULD be a good blocker means theres potential at least.

I've heard some people say stay away from this guy I've heard others say the opposite...

I have liked what I've read about Hopkins though...

Some interesting WRs to pick from it seems....

hines learned to block as a rb at georgia. we always had good blocking wr's. it's well known that they looked for that type under cowher. hopefully our new wr coach will help this.

The next Hines Ward is already in the league. He plays for Seattle. His name is Golden Tate.

I TOTALLY agree! I told someone this a few months ago and they thought I was stupid! Little do they know but great minds think alike and we OBVIOUSLY just proved it!

Oh jeez come on. I'm not saying some rookie draft pick is at the level of Hines, who's potentially a future hall of famer, I'm just saying there's a lot of similarities in their game.

just funnin with ya sbd. i personnally think chris harper is more in that mold. ex- qb 6-1 230, he should be able to fight for the ball and block. i always thought he was a bigger faster hines type.

This is why I hoped and prayed we could get Hines as a WR coach someday. He took so much pride in his blocking skills and wanted all the wide outs to block like he did.

even before hines the steelers had good blocking wr's. they made a point of it. that was missed in our run game last year. i'm hoping our new, old wr coach helps tweek these guys we have into more complete receivers. this is where i didn't have much faith in montgomery as a coach. he's still learning himself. we have some 20+ years of expierience coming in to teach them now. i think it will make a huge difference in these guys.

Quinton Patton absolutely shined during Senior Bowl week. I won't be upset at all if he is a selection of ours.
