I think that before the season, the consensus was that we would be happy with a winning season and a playoff win. Is that still true?

This team looks like a legitimate Super Bowl contender. I think that anything less than a trip to the AFCC game would be a disappointment.

Other than QB, I felt we had the talent to be a SB contender the last few years.
I just didn't know what to expect of Fields or Wilson.
This is a team that should be competing for the SB

With the Bills and the chiefs in the AFC,the afc title game will still be a huge challenge but I will hope for the best and this is possible

I trust more this team that I was before the season, this is for sure....I was saying during the offseason they were a 9-8 caliber team and they were stuck in the middle for too long but right now this is not the case with the way our defense play....I hope better red zone on offense, this is their biggest issue right now

I also hope they avoid a 3 game losing streak. They had one in each season since 2018.The stretch of 3 games in 10 days in Philly,Baltimore and KC will be a challenge

Cool getting an endorsement, but that stuff is scripted so there can be a debate to fill air time. Otherwise, there would be nothing to talk about

not changed for me, get to the DIV Round and I will be happy. We can still lose a home opener to any team, they will stack the box and make Russ pass and we can't do that well.

    I don't see a SB with Tomlin

they have been working to improve this o-line for a few years. you can't predict injuries. every year they should go in with a goal of the super bowl. we have had injuries that have changed things the last couple of years. watt and minkah last year. we were pulling safeties off the street. other area's were rookies. it's not instant results always. it's been fun to watch weidl and omar work on this roster and staff. i do believe MT has bought into it as well. there is a change in him since late last year and since colbert retired.

They've already exceeded my original expectations for this year, so yes it's definitely changed now for me. I originally had them winning only 7 games. I'll now be disappointed if we don't win the division and one playoff game.

With the big shakeup in the offseason @ QB, I was encouraged to think they might get back to the playoffs this year. My biggest fear is the dreaded injuries to key players, like Watt, Wilson, Pickens, etc. Guys that make an impact week in and week out.

IF they can avoid the big injury bug, I believe they have a legit shot this year of going deep.

They really need to win at least 1 playoff game to get the monkey of their back. If they were to lose in the divisional round vs KC or Buffalo it would be understandable. Both of those teams have exceptional QB play. QB and the WR room still is an issue for the Steelers (just not as big as it has been last few years at QB)

I don't know if the expectations have changed. I expected success this season. 8-2 with a control your own destiny situation in both the division and the conference is maybe a bit more than my initial expectation with all the changes on offense, if only because of the unknown.

IF, the Steelers win out... big IF... they are the #1 seed in the AFC. I can't say that is what I expect to happen but I won't bet against it.

I wouldn’t say that. The last two games could have gone either way and we would all be singing a different tune. We still need a complimentary receiver too Pickens. We still need to develop the Red Zone offense. We still need to see if Russ can be efficient throwing over the middle of the field. We still need to see how our Defense performs against Burrow, Mahomes and Allen. I still get uneasy with winning based off of turnovers, penalties and the other team making mistakes. Still alot of questions. We are definitely trending in the right direction however.

I believe my pick for wins before the season started was 7-10. So there is that.. .We may win a playoff game with Wilson but I don't see us in the AFC championship or even the SB... If Pickens gets hurt. We are done

    I mean...

I have long been on record for the 2024 Steelers in assessing that, if the young Offense can find its groove before the second half, Pittsburgh can win more than 10 games. I still have them at 10-7 personally. That said, I do feel much better today than I did at the mid way point of October about the teams chances.

First things first; take care of business against Cleveland. One more loss and stick a fork in them for 2024.

We are getting blown out 40-3 vs Cleveland aren’t we? lol nah this team is really good.

    Elite special teams.
    Elite defense.

Subpar offense but eats clock. We are winning games and taking care of the ball.

If we had a good offensive line I would really feel a title was coming.

Every piece of the team is there if they can improve the offense by 10-15%. Moving the ball consiustently is still a major issue and so is the red zone.

I'd agree with this. If we had Ben Roethlisberger at QB, then sure... SB would be a reasonable expectation. But among the highest echelon of teams, we still have the worst QB. Wilson had a great start vs the NY Dumpster-Fires but he isn't Mahomes, Allen, Hurts, or Goff even. If we're gonna win, then we are going to do it the way we did it in '05. Great defense and score just enough points to get it done. I honestly think we can beat anyone, but I wouldn't say it is an expectation. We're among the best teams in the AFC, but only because we are a TEAM. If it ends up falling on the offense to be Superman and win one on their own accord, I think we are going home.

A playoff appearance with a loss would be seen as a pretty big failure at this point.

Have my expectations changed? Not really. I expected a winning season and insisted that I need to see at least one playoff win. That still holds true.

    But now, I HOPE.... ;)
