Look at his rookie season with Ben though? You would think he would be able to match or improve on those numbers?

    Rookie season: 60 receptions on 79 targets / 497 yards / 7 TD's

I would expect him to be ranked in the Top 10 to 15 range for most TE stats on a yearly bassis, but he is way down.

If he can no longer get open then injuries must have already hampered him?

Your thoughts don't matter. A win is a win.

Herbig had a great play early to force the fumble and helped blow up the two-point conversion at the end, but I don't doubt for a second that the Steelers missed Highsmith today. That makes the victory even more impressive. I know we probably won't see him Thursday night, but hopefully, he will be back the following week against the Bengals.

The Bengals might be out of the playoff race by the time they play the Steelers.

I don't know why he doesn't get much separation anymore? Maybe he lost a step, maybe Ben just targeted him more? He's 100% healthy as far as I know, so it can't be that. Just from what I've seen from Muth the last 2 seasons, he's usually covered like a blanket.

That highfalutin Ravens offense looked worse than ours. Id take that every time.

Fkn great win. We play again in December, and may play again in wild card game, at home of course.

Yes exactly. You can say Wilson had a bad game but so did Lamar. The Baltimore offense is supposed to be so great yet they looked like JV against our defense. I am not too worried about this game and how the offense looked. Never seen a game yet that was not close between these two. Bengals and Browns both losing means we sit atop 1st place in the AFC north Feels good

Biggest worry is still a lack of production from any receiver not named GP. Our #2/3/4 WRs yesterday had a combined 1 catch for -1 yards.

Washington and Smith combo tore thru the right side of our line on a consistent basis.

Jones had about 483 holding calls yesterday. Ugggg.

A lot of things that can be nitpicked from yesterday. But at the end of the day, our defense held up, our offense did enough, and it was an even tougher Steelers Ravens game than normal.

Lot of plays that could have seen more flags for unsportsmanlike fouls. I even thought that the times they did throw flags for that, they were purposely throwing offsetting flags to send a message without affecting the game. I thought that was a great way to handle it. I am going to give the refs kudos for what I thought was a well officiated game between two rival teams where there is always a lot of very physical and emotional trauma. They seemed very even handed with a lot of thrown flags......

Unfortunately, I don't think we have a backup for Jones but he needs to sit his a@@ down. WTF is wrong with him. Personal fouls and holding calls galore. Clean that crap up

Not good but my hope is that Williams will be more involved from the game against the Bengals

10 days off between Browns and Bengals, so he should have learned more of the playbook from that time...This is my hope!

Feeling #12 for sure now. Started feeling it last week.

We are not the Lions, Chiefs or Bills, but we can be so damn disruptive to the opposition on defense and can score enough points on a good day that we are at least a legitimate threat.

We are now among the top half dozen or so that have a real chance.

People just love the big splash plays and awesome TD's but year in year out a Kicker leads the league in scoring.

I am really starting to think it's a Muth problem. Not good enough at getting separation, route running ability, or good at finding soft spots in zone coverage?

    Another solid analysis blackandgoldpatrol

    2) Using Fields sparingly I am for.

    4) Queen has settled in and was charged UP for the contest yesterday. Each game he has gotten better. They have a hell of a ILBer core now.

    9) Broderick Jones. He was fired up yesterday but allow way to many pressures. The Offensive Line as a whole is getting owned in pass defense as again Wilson was under duress.

    10) 8 snaps. Nil targets. Why? But Van down by the river Jefferson is still on the field.

i'm not saying wilson had a bad game really. several good plays were called back on penalties. it would have changed the offenses look. russells game would have looked better.

Wilson had a very good second half outside of the brutal interception who maybe Washington deserve some blame for that. The first half were just brutal on offense, same for the red zone. Not all on him of course but everyone including the OC need to be better in this situation

Btw.. I have to amend #7 a bit ..... Payton Wilson didn't just make the defensive play of the game.....
He made the defensive play of the season

This is what Tomlin had to say about Jones when asked if he would be benched. The thing with Tomlin he never gives up too soon. Kudos to him. Based on what I have seen this year I would say Tomlin and company are surrounding themselves with a very competetive and complete team

"I am not worried about that, you guys can write all you want," Tomlin said. "Broderick Jones is playing right tackle for us. He is going to continue to get better. He is a top-quality player in terms of his talent. He’s a young guy who is experiencing some on-the-job training. He and I will not blink. Keep writing."

Jones will be fine. He was raw and we're seeing it. Not worried at all.
