He was very good in the red zone in the first 6 games with 5 rushing TD and his passing was not bad in this situation....Last 3 games, the steelers have been brutal in the red zone in 2 of those games.I don't talk to always put Fields in the red zone but in some situation it would help

    Your thought?

Hell yeah! They will think run and he can throw a football. I was pumped when he came in today. Slide a tad bit early but he made it happen.

Big lanes he would have had all game ..Even if he doesn't keep it it takes 1 tackler away at least ..He needs a short yardage package and we need to use it ..I still want to see both QBS on the field at the same time as well.. Lots of trick plays available from such a set ..

Yes, especially against these better teams. Fields adds that running dimension we’re gonna need during this gauntlet of juggernaut games.

Wilson will be out starter but Fields must be incorporated in short yardage and/or goal line situations

They were probably saving Fields until the tough part of the schedule, now it's time to get him involved in the red zone.

I’m okay giving him a snap or two a game, but I don’t like handing the Redzone to him completely.

Russ is still the best bet to throw into the Endzone, and don’t want him to get rusty doing it.

Yes, I think that Tomlin intentionally held onto the package for a key moment in the Ravens game. I'd love to see him get more involved. His legs can give us a spark when we need it.

On a side note, Wilson hasn't been particularly awesome the past couple games. It seems like teams are selling out to stop the deep ball, and Russ is going to have to show some more poise than he has to move the ball underneath a bit to open those moon balls back up. I love the explosion that the deep ball has brought, but we've really struggled moving it when its not there of late. Gonna need to figure that out, as I expect more teams to follow that blueprint against Wilson and our offense.

Lets hope the Steelers have something planned, The use of TE would be welcome also.

It would be great if we got a bit more creative on 1st and 2nd down in the redzone.

Yes, on the 3rd and one run that clenched the game, 2 Raven defenders ran right past Harris who had the ball and went after Fields. That is exactly why Tomlin had him in the game then.

It was funny even on that first run of Fields when it was second and long, I was thinking... "Dude your no longer the starting QB, you lower your shoulder and go for the first down!!!"

Maybe occasionally but not as a rule. Wilson was not the problem in the red zone today. It was the lack of pass protection and poor play calling. The ravens red zone D was set to stop the run and what do we do? Run. Then when we pass our receivers were not trying hard enough to get open. Even the announcers noticed it.

Yep I have tried to explain this to people who don't like running QB'S , but they do help the running game and the short passing game ...Why not force other Teams to stop 2 different attacks ?

It was clear the Rats had no respect for Wilson as a runner they crashed the entire game on that zone give which becomes a zone read if the QB can run...
On that toss sweep as soon as the RB took a step and the QB turned the entire D slanted that way .. That's a great play to keep and run a TE behind it..

Yeah, he needed to take one more stride and get it. I understand that he was protecting the ball and not turning it over, but you gotta get the first too. Maybe a forward dive was the play? IDK

Idk. Wilson hasn't been good in the red zone since he's taken over. He's been great with the deep ball, but he needs to do a bit better underneath. That first half he got happy feet and missed a few opportunities. The defense sold out to stop the "over the top" balls, and we needed to adjust better than we did. Also that RZ INT was 100% on him. Can't make that play when a FG puts you up 8.l

Yes and no. We have big boys that can run the ball. Russ is the better passer of the two. I think you would need to be talking a specific designed play for Fields.

The best running Qb in the league is Lamar.....how much did it help him today. Wilson has been great in the red zone outside today.
You are asking for a bunch of players to be upset with this.
Need I remind everyone that He one td to A WR in 6 games. Yeah we will be fooling a bunch of people when He comes in in the red zone.....since most of his tds were running.......You'd have to be a very bad DC to not know what He was going to do.
So I guess You would be fooling the Dumb DCs.

I couldn't believe the Ravens were fooled when Fields kept the ball and ran for 9 yards. Did they think he came into the game to throw a pass? Just terrible coaching on their part.

Fields had 5 rushing TD in 6 starts in the red zone this season....Many bad DC in this league according to this logic.....The red zone offense had also been brutal vs Giants

I had hoped he had learned the moon ball by now ..Pickens would have had the entire field to adjust....lol
