What about this scenario release him and use that money to re-sign Keenan Lewis he's 7 years younger, although neither one of them come up with interceptions. Then Lewis and Allen are the starters at CB and Gay the 3rd CB and you draft a rookie CB, Curtis Brown looked lost last season he only excels on special teams.

Fair enough, but since you brought it up, how much of a cap hit would there be by releasing him and how much would we save? That alone will tell you whether this is realistic or not.

If I remember correctly releasing Ike wouldn't wave much at all...I could be wrong but I think thats the case. Out of all the "older" guys...Ike is the one I'd want to keep the most.

Cutting Ike saves around $2.55 million. I don't like the idea. He played really well in all but 2 games last season.

Anybody suggesting we get rid of Ike Taylor has gone cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs.

Same here. That's not money you want to 'save'.

AMEN to that! Cutting IKE is not something I would even do in Madden.

So then it comes down to whether or not people think Ike is worth $2.55 million. If not, who is better for cheaper? I don't like Ike and think he's overrated, but he's one of our starting CB's and cutting him saves very little, and unless we can bring in someone better for cheaper, what's the point?

Unless that's a typo and there are supposed to be a couple 1's in front of that 2.55, I don't understand the question.

wait this is cap for this year ,if you sign lewis the cap could be the same , then you save taylor money in the future cap and you have a younger cb that has his cap , if you think lewis can be a reliable first cb for the future you could cut ike and sign him

I think people our forgetting that Lewis only had one good season. And he still wasn't a shut down corner. Ike is the best corner we have. He definitely doesn't need to be cut.

Totally agree with you two, the secondary finally starts playing well and we're going to get rid of our best corner? No.
